worth thinking about as it shudnt cost >£200 in the uk, but the size worries me a little, kinda looking for a compact :)

Ye I was also looking at getting a compact, to take with me when we go out clubbing etc, but I took this cam with me once or twice in my regular jean pocket, and although it is a tight fit, its still doable. Besides that its very good for just about any other shot that does not require manual zoom. It may not be as portable as a compact but imo it is a lot more useful.

I recently started to look for a compact between 200 and 250€ and I found :
Canon IXUS 70 or Canon IXUS 75 which seems to look very good but not that good on a technical point of view though I have to admit that I really like the design of the both, especially the IXUS 70 which looks really in a pure oldschool style.

And Panasonic DMC-FX30 or FX33 wich seems to be both better than the IXUS regarding the spec, but I prefer the design of the 2 Canon ...

I didn't buy any of those yet, but if someone could have some advices or warnings about one of the 4, feel free to tell me :D
I know this is below your budget so the specications are also not as good as a 300€ compact but save some money :)

I scratched the lense on my Panosonic TZ7 and been looking for about an hour for cameras, I can replace the lense for about 30 quid by buying a second hand fault camera from ebay.

Have there been any useful advances in the digital camera market for about 150-200 quid as this was one of the best you could buy when I got it.

Not sure if I should just keep it as an emegency backup as its only at certain angles you notice and video stilled seems decent.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT4, works underwater aswell. A bit on the expensive side tho i guess.
