I dont have enough space for a crt. Also I think tft takes less power which would apply to me as pc is on most of the day.

I have a Sony G520p 21" CRT, it uses an impressive 135 watts when on, when it's shut off after 10 minutes of idling it uses 3 watts. So unless having your computer on all day meant you're also going to be on it all day, you can avoid some of the power hogging of CRTs through windows built in settings.

I used to use 5 minutes but it gets annoying for some online video sites where windows doesn't know better and turns the screen off after 5 minutes. For all outside of the web browser media players though it always overrides the shutoff.

I have used a CRT Iiyama vision master pro 451 for years.
however my stephson have bought the Samsung SM2032BW.
Im testing it now while im reading your comment becous i am thinking about getting the same one. I have played Quake 3, Quake 4, Trackmania nations, Call of Duty 4 and race driver Grid. and i can tell you, this is by far the best tft monitor i have ever seen, totally no lags or gosting, its nice and with a 2 ms response time its quite equal to the 500hz ( 2ms ) timings of my mouse + keyboard.
i would say buy this one its really really good

the problem is its not 120hz also 2ms responsetime does not equal 500ms in the case of TFT's

its the newer version of the 206bw and there is no panel lottery meaning that you wont get a shit panel and be unnaware of it like in the 206bw (you have to open the thing to find out and that ofcourse will void your warrenty) - everyone complained but although these 3rd party panels (2 of 3 aren't produced by samsung) meet "samsung standards" they are not as good as the samsung panel you are rarely getting or sure to get with the pebble series (2x232bw/mw series)

the bw is 2ms
the mw is tv+monitor+high definition 1080p @ 5ms

personally i recommend the 2032mw with high definition as most new gfx cards come with hdmi input, and the difference in ms is neglible in all games except quake, if you have a next gen console, the high definition is a great feature and you should make do with 3 extra ms, unless you base your life solely around becoming quake champion of the world, in which case your wasting your money on lcd anyway and should just go for CRT - itll be fine for other games and look nicer... + you can brag to your friends for the next year until they all decide to invest in a 42 inch plasma tv with true HD. itll score you some browny points now though for sure

what are you on about lol? i dont get models warping like many do when they complain about xerp, the fact i am more clued up than you in everything in general would lead anyone to think you are just an idiot. did you actually know that the visual effects of xerp seem to be client dependant? maybe if you learnt how to set up your config correctly you wouldnt end up crying to me on a website because my game runs fine and you are incapable of getting yours to do the same.
