Someone please explain, step by step how to play this demo..

I've downloaded the 1.2 patch, I've downloaded the fucking utcomp3

I put the demo in the right folder, I can't even begin to describe how long this took me

I hate this game with every fibre in my body but I want to see the skill level these guys have got to before I fucking delete this buggy annoying piece of shit off my PC.

Can anyone tell me how to run these demos?
I kept getting error in the playback

Have spent 2 hours now, still can't play it, trying to get all the mutators, got it in the right dir, renamed it, everything, I've tried... everything...

If anyone can give clear concise step-by-step instructions without jargon, and take into account I have never ever played any of the other UTs..

I just want to watch a demo it cannot possibly be this hard..

try playing any tournament demo with clean ut2004 install

Basically you have to put almost all the files in your my games\ut3\utgame\script directory, it must work. But yes, I agree with you, it's really hard to watch demos, not really user-friendly, but the gameplay is pretty cool, and I got surprised how smooth the demos went even tho the sound and the weapon displayed on the screen is pretty wrong.

If Epic have putted a bit more effort into this it would have been a really good game :(

About me watching my own demo, it's normal because this tournament was in london and the server had packages that I never seen before, so yeah, it's the same to me as you guys =)

Oh I did not mean it that bad. I just meant its so terrible to see a game company do the SAME mistakes from years ago in developing a game. I mean come on, its 2008 and so many attempts have been made...

I guess its just not worth it financially to work on these things and just churn out the game with the basic stuff working.

ut99/2k3/2k4 worked all fine. it's just epic didnt include client-side demo play in ut3 -afaik :(

is deck actually any good for 1v1? i'll be honest i've only played it the once, but it seemed horrific- far too big with very long coridoors, dodgey item layout and a huge open room- seemed more suited to 4v4 for me :(

its actually quite horrible, but all the ut99 boys love it so it still gets played unfortunately.

It's fucking horrific the awfulness of Deck.

But alas, the UTers love the map.

if you come didn't play UT99, you will suck at it, and hence whine continously about how "bad" it is.

Of course not taking into consideration that it is one of the most accomplished and most consistently used maps in FPSing since CS' Dust 1 & 2. ;P

it's still an awful map though- i mean there's maps in other games that i'm shit at, but still respect that it's a good map- where as i can't say the same for deck.
