Was looking for you other day on irc btw. Was messing with hudfiles and timing after you said one could time via that, couldnt make it work tho. Dont think it will be that helpful ingame, but annoys me i couldnt get it to work :D

its pretty funny, that was basicly a massive ffa... kinda strange how although jac got most of the quads it seems, they couldnt really capitalize on it. it might be the map, might just be the game, but imo, its pretty gay that tdm is so weak in q3...

It's basically ffa and it's always been like that. I play TDM myself and I have huge, pure fun, but I'm not that blind not to see that it has actually not much to do with a real team game. All Quakes are more or less ffa, that's fact. It's just all about holding crucial positions/areas and timing items. I don't believe in tactics. Just give a team 4 copies of fox without any "tactics" knowledge and preparation for a game and for their opponents, let's say, very good TDM players, the best "tactics" they can use on a particular map, and I'm 99% sure that they still would lose that game.

In Quake tactics is NOT the key. Allround skill level is, IMO. And fox is maybe not the best duel player, but in my eyes he is the best allround player Q3 ever had and ever will.

agree for tdm... not really for ctf.

Merc teams always worked very well in tdm, but surely not in ctf... ctf isn't just about (one) pu's, it's about holding key areas at key moments, killing yourself to get faster to this position, supporting...

yes sad but true. I quite enjoyed tactical/defensive games back in the good 'ol days, but nowadays it's gotten a bit more boring, with all the ffa'ing. It wasn't always like this, certainly not.
