wow id is getting humongous now. To think, Quake2 had what, 12 people work on it? Insane. I know Carmack stated at QuakeCon '07 he wanted to keep it at 50>= employees. How many you guys got so far? This is going to be real interesting, more than one id game coming out every 4 years? It's like going back to the 90s.
Unfortunately id software are still living in the past with their "small family" size team. For example.. "Ubisoft plans to expand its workforce by over 900 employees by the end of March of next year".
OK, Ubisoft is a large publisher, but you just know id software won't make a decent game till they have over 9000.
and EA has how many, 5000 employees? more?! how is this relevant since id is not a publisher... at least not yet.

Well that sounds pretty damn nice! Since ID has announced quake 5 will be multi-player focused, I'm guessing doom4 will be similar to doom3 with SP focus?
Some suggestions even though you didn't ask for any.
1. don't make it repetitive
2. strafe jump capability
3. hardware friendly..not like crysis
4. include ArKtiK's sweet air rocket in the intro to inspire other newbies to be just like him.
sync who was the very smart and seemingly charming person who decided to take the doom3 logo with the corners over the doom 3 logo with the curves? that was so much cooler and promised more :/
