yeah, whole country here was crazy about crocop. i stopped caring after he lost to fedor. he looked like a non-interested cunt. dunno what the fuck happened, guess he lost interest, or got old. he looked really bad in the cage lately.
boxing is limited in terms of a combat sport compared to MMA without a doubt and MMA is much more dynamic
but he's right in a way. boxing is much more spectator friendly, well, the majority of it anyone who enjoys current heavyweight boxing needs to slice their own throat fuck it up then try again.
but then again it's all personal taste, I've come to love MMA more and more recently
i enjoy the standing up fighting, i dont find the ground fighting interesting in the slightest. Im quite sure there is lots of skill in avoiding getting arm barred or whatever on the ground, but that doesnt change the fact that its boring as fuck for a spectator.at least this spectator. the memorable mma moments nearly always come from when they are standing up, you see far more flair, its just more interesting.

As you follow MMA you'll start to appreciate active ground fighting more although I'd definitely agree if it's lay and pray stuff where no one's really doing much. Active ground fighting where there's clear attempts to make moves and changes of position is as exciting as standup fighting.
Bullshit. Most people are beginning to enjoy ground fighting as well such as good takedowns, submission escapes, submission attempts and etc.
Most intelligent people anyway, there are still a lot of cunts around that will go like 'uhh this is gay they are going to kiss blabla' :D
i thought so too ages ago. cause it looks boring in most cases, when 2 stand-up fighters get to the floor and dont know what to do.
and then you hear about the mythical nogueira. and you see the stuff he does on the floor. the armbars, and ofcourse the triangle choke. and you go like..... damn. i know he lost his strength nowadays, but still some stuff worth watching.
josh barnett is too much cocky imo, ie that thing he does like hes cutting throats, looks like a little kid trying to get attention from their parents.
He comes across as a very intelligent and respectful fighter. The throat thing is just for show, marketing himself. He wants to stand out. Also he is from a wrestling background, so that kind of stuff is ingrained in him.
btw yeah i watched pretty much all Pride FC events and watched all WVR Sengoku and Dream FC events. (no soccerkicks though... :( )
There are some great fights coming up this year. I hope the affliction banned card has a decent presentation (they have awesome fighters but the show shouldnt look cheap!)
Not into the sport enough to watch every event but I enjoy watching the big names like Couture, Liddell, CroCop and Fedor. Also anyone with explosive ability who can make a fight exciting like Arlovski.
That was jardine not being able to handle silva's precission and agressiveness. Jardine shouldn't have tried to stand up right away. He should have laid on his back and taken his chances on the ground. If silva want's him up he still gets like 10 seconds to recover.
Been following the sport closely since 2003. Lately I only have time to watch the big events like UFC and Dream, but I watch a lot of single fights from the smaller shows. Also watch K-1, mostly the finals and Max.
When I was into it at first I watched everything I came across (got about 400gigs total now). Done some BJJ and a tiny bit of standup, and still do occasionally.
