there's no place to really put this since noone plays pk anymore, but i need to find PK++ so i can put up a server for me and a few friends. can any of you friendly people tell me where i can download it?
actually fellas i got it from someone off of irc. too bad i downloaded pk through steam and cant figure out how to get it to work with steam loaded pk. says can't find steam.
this is the last time i download a game from them.
no actually. thanks alot tho. if you have an idea on how to make it work through steam i'd like that, but otherwise i have it and can't get it to work. STEAM BLOWS.
painkiller failed with the intention of great aircontrol, but poorly made movement system..
EDIT: I cant reply or do anything :( ESR really need to be looked at..
but: well.. the movement had potential, but was poorly made.. made the game fail for me.. for ppl who picked picked it up despite that, may have come to that conclusion too :)
actually it is? strafejump is not just hitting the jump button, plus circlejumping takes skill, and like wata said, unlike pk, you can quickly build up speed, after a complete stop, and therefore you're not screwed when you try to dodge shots, when you're standing still.. but you to your precious cpm movement i guess :)
and one more thing.. vq3 was never about aircontrol :)
the movement system had one cool thing : it's the easiest one in the fast paced arcade projectiles shooters family ; ofc easiest than quake circle-jumps, and even easiest than ut dodges stuff too (ofc mastering pk bunnyhoping is another story, but starting to learn it is as easy as.. repeatidly hitting jump button)
the bad thing was imo that you cannot stop bunnyhoping, cause you lose all the accumulated momentum and the acceleration is too slow and needs too much jumps to get again a decent speed ; flawed concept, kind of not finished, lacks of something
agreed. i've been playing it and it really just feels like a dumbed down cpm q3. I hate the fact you can't turn around and look behind you when you are flying around a map, or else you stop dead.
I like the maps though, and for people who don't normally play fast paced fps it's easy as pie to pick up the movement.
love the rockets though. never hit so many air rockets in my life LOL.
