I heard 10,000 volts, but I don't know if that's true. I saw a guy run Crysis on ultra-high with quad-SLI GeForce 9800 GX2's. That's 8 GPU's! It also ran at 90 frames per second.

No. It's probably somewhere between 100-500 volts AC, depending on what country you live in, and about 3.3, 5, and 12 volts converted (some both signed and un). That system will not draw more than one amp, and you do not power your surround sound system or monitor with your computer power supply.

The point is that it is spelled gigawatts, and this is what the film was referencing, despite the pronounciation. The pronounciation, however, has been deemed correct by some sources (and by "correct," that does not mean that it is the official pronounciation, because it is not; it just means that it has been pronounced that way before, and is accepted by some).

If you really think that it was pronounced "jiggowatts" versus "jiggawatts," then 1) I don't really care and 2) you have issues.

In the film's script the word "gigawatt" is spelled "jigowatt". Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis had been to a science seminar and the speaker had pronounced it "jigowatt".

Voltage is not power. Nor is it energy. It's the difference in electric potential between two points. Electric potential difference can be thought of as the ability to move electrical charge through a resistance.
