A bit sad to see so few signups for Quake 2 when there hasn't been a big tournament with prizemoney for ages.

Personally i think all Quake 2 players has now officially removed their right to say phrases like "great news for the 11 people playing <insert game here>."

I agree with you that it's very wierd that not more players show more interest with this tournament, but I'm pretty sure it's not the Q2 players that pull the jokes you mention.

I really thought that more people would show up for a nice event like DH with Q2 as one of the main games... Just a few months ago we had EDL and over 100 1v1 players playing.

something about summer and "adult gamers" not gaming during summer

speaking for qw, the field is very strong, even if small. i think the dreamhack crowd will be blown away a second time by some of the highest FPS skill they have ever seen during the qw finals

I tried my best to get reppie to come but he is taking a small break and building up his "power" for the next qhlan. He didn't even join my elite ztndm3 online tourney because he doesn't wan't to lose a single map :>

The reason why so many top Q2 swedish players didn't signup is that they simply don't like dreamhack (afaik) :p

Imo thats a very bad excuse. Im pretty sure most or even all of them have not even been at dreamhack. I've been to dreamhack around 4-5 times and I have never taken part of the actual lan since there is plenty of stuff there to do if you just come there to play the tournament wich should be motivation or fun enough. It's not often you get to meet the fellow quakers that still play and this time there will be 3 different quake generations there and it's sad that not more from all games did not sign up.

Yes summer is here and it's natural to play less but its 2 days we are talking about here and even I have not started Quake the last 2-3 weeks.
