Like many people here, I bought a ViewSonic VX922 to make the transition from CRT to LCD.
It has worked great for more than two years and I love it more than I love my mother for letting me play games in a comfortable LCD, but this week it started doing weird things when changing inputs or resolutions (the screen goes black, light starts flashing and the only way to make it work is to unplug it for a few minutes). Beware VX922 owners, because I've read it's a pretty common problem with these displays and people are having loads of trouble even with the replacements sent by ViewSonic.
Unfortunately my warranty expired two months ago, so I have to look for an alternative. Obviously, I'm not going to buy a ViewSonic ever again, so right now I'm looking at other brands' offerings.
I want a 1920x1200 monitor with, at least, two digital inputs (DVI/HDMI), small input delay and, if possible, component and VGA inputs.
My first choice was the Dell 2408WFP, but it's expensive and it has lots of input delay (around 70 ms). My next option would be the BenQ FP241VW, but it also has about 36 ms of input delay and it's way over what I was expecting to pay.
Then I've looked at the Samsung 2493HM, which is relatively cheap at 400 euros and has really small input delay compared to the higher end models (at the cost of worse colors), but, dunno WTF were they thinking at Samsung, stretches 16:9 resolutions, which means I'd get stretched images from consoles.
So far I've looked a lot of monitors and none of them are satisfying enough, so that's why I'm asking you fellow nitpicking ESR users for advice.
Any suggestions?
Update: they called me today from ViewSonic saying they will replace my monitor. I already bought a BenQ G2400W and they say the don't know when will they have one VX922 in stock, so I think I'll keep the new one :P
