This week I had my ISP upgrade me from 1.5meg dsl to 7meg dsl, and now (in the last few days) whenever I try to refresh the server browser in Quake 3 my internet disconnects right when I hit the refresh button. Both the DSL and Internet lights on the modem (2Wire modem/router combo from Qwest) turn off and then reconnect about 10-15 seconds later. Some times (1 out of 10) it will refresh and let me on a server, but about half the time about 30 seconds to a minute later my computer locks up and I have to hard reboot. Some times it doesn't. It appears really random.
I have turned off the Windows (Vista) firewall. I have even done Start<Run<msconfig and disabled it completely. I have set this computer to DMZ mode in the router config (to allow all apps to work).
Nothing else at this time seems hindered. I have tried QuakeWorld (ezQuake) and it works. Steam (teamfortress 2) server browser works. IRC and internet browser work fine. Seems to be just Quake 3 right now.
And just in case someone tries to suggest it; yes, I have no other software firewalls, and no anti-virus running. I have run a virus check and found nothing.
Does anyone have a clue what's going on? I have tried all sorts of combos of quake 3, internet, crashing, disconnect, server browser, etc. in Google and haven't found anything useful yet.
Thanks in advance.
