Hi,

I happened to watch that video on youtube, featuring Cypher playing vs noBap at an old asus cup back in 2006.

I really love the way that cfg looks. Does anyone know from what original cfg did cypher inspire here, or how to get such graphics ?
I know the video is kinda blurry and shaky, but I'm sure that someone will manage to recognize the ownor of that cfg (probably an oldschool player).
Cypher is using a complete different cfg now so I can't ask him for any help. So far, I've been trying already most of russians/belarus players cfgs (eg. cooller, evil, nobap, morfez, lexer, enemy, cherya, immortal ...) and couldn't match those graphics.

Any help would be much appreciated !

Looks like a pretty standard cfg with high r_intensity and r_mapoverbrightbits

Well smoke on is something easy to disable :]
I may try resetting everything to default and use picmip + set vertex light but I doubt it

that looks like:
r_picmip 4
r_fullbright 1
r_vertexlight 0
r_overbrightbits 0

upped gamma and possibly even upped mapoverbrightbits.. but definitely those first 4 commands there..

also, i think r_fullbright cancels itself on a mapchange so you have to change it every map :P might explain why it didnt work when you were testing cfg's..

Well I did my tests on ztn, applying different settings without restarting the map :]
Gonna try these, thx

edit : doh, doesn't work at all, this looks completely different now :P

that's how the gfx settings in the video are.. the walls can't get that gray'ish (and not red'ish) any other way, really.. (�_o)

its funny that, how people ask questions in regards to what configs look like

although i do fail to mention that their are a small minority of retards that play quake 3 who refuse to accept they have ever asked another player a question regarding their config because they beleive they are super cool, not just simply idiots.

back on topic, how do you like this config?! :S the textures and colours are far from pretty, whatever floats your boat though

my config is pretty nice, it has some gay looking picmip'd textures and commands from both osp and cpma.as i havnt cleaned it up, but in general this doesnt effect anything in game and it feels and looks 'good' on all maps :) give it a go if you want

some quick info you may want to edit to your own personalisation

cg_fov 104 ... its random, i know :)
r_picmip 5
all gun trails etc @ 0... apart from railgun
cg_blood 0
cg_lightningimpact 0... but for some people, they cant aim without it so set to 1, especially if you have high fov as it will help most players, its the effect when lightning hits wall
cg_truelightning 1
some edited gun position values so lg shoots nicer
r_mode 6 (1024x768) ... you might want to change this

some commands you must change

cl_packetdup 2 - set it to 1 (default)... 2 is for my RUBBISH connection with 10percent + PL all times :)

that's about it.. maybe people will hate it, but every config i looked at so far as so many different colours, its like playing paintball... i get distracted with the prettyness ^^ hf
