ever since i moved home for the summer my family is currently splitting our standard nothing-special 4-port router with a comical number of switches, we have about 4 pcs and 4 consoles hooked up in this manner now. 3 of the connections have a switch attached to them splitting them in two, and the wii is on wireless.
my mom has expressed interest in buying a new router, but i've never actually seen a router with more than 4 ports except for extremely high end commercial routers, so i've been wondering if:
1) is having our network set up in this way causing any significant slowdown
2) if it is in fact worth upgrading, could someone recommend me an affordable solution. my mom wants at least 5, but more would be good too.
