Yea why did they take double jumps out of cq3? It's the same *kind of* thing as ramp jumps, so why would vq3 players accept one but not be willing to the other?

dunno makes no sense really, doubles are far more useable than ramps, also opens alot of cpm maps to be played

I'd go so far as to say ramp jumps without double jumps are almost pointless as they only seem to come into their own when combined with double jumps :/

cq3 is meant to be used with vq3 maps
using only ramp-jumps can add some variances and open a spot for maps development

Doubles do this in a far greater way and when ramp jumps are combined open things up even more.

Motivation: Minimise streaks of "cheap luck". Biased player respawns mean that a player CAN respawn at any spawnpoint, but is more likely to respawn some distance from where he died. While clearly still superior to baseq3's utterly predictable respawns, and significantly less likely (note: NOT impossible) to result in unpleasant "get spawnfragged in the same place 3 times in a row" than the "true random" scheme that PMC uses, there are still elements to it that I'm not really comfortable with. My personal opinion is that that there IS no "best" way to handle respawns, because of the variance in map layouts etc and in the events that lead up to the frag in the first place. Still, to paraphrase the ELM docs: "All respawn schemes suck. This one just sucks less than the others". :)

That's an old spawn system, in CQ3 you always spawn the other side of the map from the killer (Not the corpse as in vq3).

Same as the q4max spawnsystem.

chg: spawnsystem back to "far half" from killer with no weighting

so fixed one is:

dm6 @ mega or @ sg under ra

Also, i think CQ3 uses the bigger item heights from cpm (try jumping over an item in vq3 and then in cpm). Dont have q3 on this pc so cant check but iirc it was like that last time i checked

The answer is probably no, older versions will.

It's not intended for other mods so no effort is made to maintain compatibility. If having two executables is too complicated for you then don't use it.

Funny, I start asking a question wondering why cnq3.exe doesn't work with using other mods like say defrag. Next a douchebag says some shit about cq w/e. Then ix has half a decent post explaining the question at hand. Then some douchebag comes in out of nowhere talking about some shit that MIGHT have happened in the past in some other threads.
