u could check out the new pilot-mouse, logitech rx 250, "The rebirth of a classic" as they call it. Looks just like mx 300. "The familiar, ambidextrous shape has been updated with a new, flatter profile for improved comfort during extended use" so its pilot shape just a tad lower in height. I have always loved the pilot shape, and currently using the G1, but i gona get the rx 250 in some days. Its realy cheap so i thought could just check it out even i'am very satisfied with the g1.

got mine today, it wont go over 125hz, its u s e l e s s. I play with monitor on 150hz, witch is more than this mouse polling rate can do. Looked like 100fps, wasn't smooth at all. Realy a shame, I liked the lowered profile, and its was lighter than my g1, even rx250 had a weight inside. I well, i saw the new profile was only in the top part off the mouse, so i tried to switch it over, same with the cable that was thinner, But off course the top part cant fit the g1 (mostly since the r250 is screwed together with 3 screews (2 under the mousefeet in the front and buttons wont hit right) and the cable was soldered directly to the pcb board instead off using these plastic connections/plugs witch is more common. Hole mouse is a waste.

My MX300 got broken like 6months ago and sins that I cant find good mouse... tryet razers and they all got broken in 1month.

Now im useing OCZ EQUALIZER and im not very happy with that mouse :(.

What exactly broke on the mx300?

First right button got broken. After that it kept disconnecting :(
But it worked fine for 5years or something :P

Right click can be repaired by re soldering the microswitch from another mouse.

As for dissconecting - get a cable from a 5$ logitech mouse and switch them, this will solve the disconnecting problem.

I have a retired logitech mx300 I'd be willing to part with. Its retired because the left mouse button developed a problem. Sometimes a single click will register as a double click. I'm not sure if soldering a new microswitch would fix it, but if you want the mouse let me know. Maybe you can use it for parts or something.. other than the clicking it works perfectly. Right now its just sitting next to a couple of worthless boomslangs.
I use a death adder now... no problems whatsoever... other than the glowing. =)

There is no overclocking of the mx300, it doesn't use more clock cycles per second. It's the usb port and it doesn't just affect the mx300. The mx500 is in the top with 1000hz, where the G1 also would be and it IS a better mouse than the mx300.

he tried to overclock the G1 (meaning the usb port, just so your happy), but it didn't have any effect on the G1.
So overclocked mx300/500 > G1 (and 90% of the other mice)

Ah...i see what you mean now. Weird it didn't react, i noticed a change from 125 to 500hz with my G1 when i did it. I don't see a reason to use 1000hz though since i couldn't get stable 1000hz with neither my mx500, 510 and 300.

still weird, since the internals are exactly the same if i remember correct.

i ordered the logitech rx 250. this thing will not accept any overclocking as well. pfft.

i was intending on overclocking mine to 1000 hz. but g1 is a good alternative. how come the g1 isnt overclocked on mouse scores?

good idea... but i need something in the mean time. i have been looking at that mouse as well, but im very impatient. i will get many mice, but i think that one has alot of promise as long as the 3G is optical and not laser.
