present yourself shortly:
My name is Richard Gansterer and I'm also known as noctis. I'm 21 years old. I live in Bezirk Neunkirchen and I work in Vienna as System administrator. In my free time I like to play q3.
Since when do you play quake?
I tried it for the first time in 2000, but my online career began in 2006.
You also played quake 4. Why don't you play this game any more?
It simply doesn't answer my expectations. At first I liked it, however it got patched 'to death'.
What was your reaction when quake 3 was announced as a game for this year's ESWC?
I was very pleased about that, as it is the game I like to play in my spare time.
How did you prepare for the National Final
I didn't only qualify/train for the National Final in Austria, as I got invited to the ESWC Masters in Paris from 4 to 6 july. I regularly played online in order to keep myself in shape. Daily some games, simply to stay at that level.
Have you taken time off to prepare optimally for the upcoming Masters tournament?
I have one day on monday. Tuesday & wednesday I need to work, and then it will start soon. The tournament already starts early on friday.
What are your expectations for the upcoming Masters tournament?
1st of course. (laughs)
No, surely not. I would be happy to reach top8 and even more happy with every place higher up.
And then for the Grand Final in August?
Very similar, whereas the level is higher at the Masters tournament. After all you can only get invited for that one.
What does your training schedule looks like until the big Finals?
The regularity is important and to remain active, that should do it.
To come back shortly about this event: How much did you like the location?
It's my first nur48stunden. I didn't really participate the lan-party itself, as I was fully concentrated on the ESWC Qualifier. The monitors weren't really great for quake, but I got used to them quite well.
Do you actually go to LAN-partys?
Not any more for a long time. In the past I often went to several events. The reason is simple: The activity of Quake3 in austria is not high at all.
What was your main impression about the National Final in general?
It was ok and it was fun to participate.
