As long as your mouse sens isn't so high that you can't precisely control it then it's pretty much all preference. Lowsens won't mess up your movement(see mew trickjump).

Depending on your mouse it could skip like mad, so you'd have to move it slower, increasing the difference in ms.

yes, technically if you just wanted to move the pointer from spot A to spot B then sure, higher sens is the way to go. fps however is not only about moving your mouse quickly as possible. f you're to have any sort of precision in your shots you need to focus on the target more, and guess what, you'll move fastest to make a proper shot with a sensitivity that feels natural for you, not the fastest possible. if anything it takes a lot longer to line up a proper shot when your pointer is all over the place and you're trying to shoot a pixel wide target.

With accel 0, you are moving the same regardless the speed. Try the angle thing. You will always turn 360 by moving the mouse the same distance. This doesn't happen with accel, thats why you can't exactly measure the distance you need to turn 360 if you use accel. Basic stuff imo.

I spent quite a long time messing around with what sens worked well for me, and ended up at sens 2.5 (about 40cm 360), and accel 0.7, m_pitch/yaw at default. It takes a while to get used to but its basically high sens without the overshooting you can get at long range.

tbh, I've heard both. I originally believed it to be 400dpi, but a lot of people have claimed that it was 400 on the original, and 450 on the re-release. I do not notice a difference when using my death adder at 450, but it's really not the same mouse in your hand, it's only similar with your eyes. Actually holding and using the mouse, the DA and 3.0 are worlds apart.
The ESR mouse score indicates 400dpi, but I could swear I'd read on some microsoft.com site that it's actually been "increased to 450 for gamers" (sic)
I couldn't tell you 100% for sure if it's 400 or 450. The only thing I can say with 100% certainty is that it's the greatest mouse to date.

Definitely agree on the best mouse to date. I have a DA, mx 518 and my IE 3.0 is the only one I really use anymore (I was sceptical at first that it was better than the DA/518).

Obviously when you get down to the best preference and feel is a big factor; 3.0 just fits like a glove ;]

What are doing m_pitch and m_yaw cvars exactly? I mean, why some people would use 0.022 and others 0.018, instead of just lowering the value on the sensitivity cvar?

Some people want a lower m_pitch or m_yaw, or inversed m_pitch or m_yaw.

Personally I just think it's stupid to lower pitch and yaw to let's say 0.018 and 0.018.

I mean what they are actually doing, in what way they tweak sensitivity. Because if I use different sensitivities for different weapons and want to lower all of them at the same time, I see these cvars being kinda useful.

M_pitch hightens/lowers the vertical sensitivity, m_yaw horizontal sensitivity.

A negative pitch or yaw value inverses the input(m_pitch -0.022 would be inverted y axis)

i would imagine that fox plays with inverted m_yaw, so that he actually turns to the left when he hears something to his left...
