what camera did you do those shots with? pretty amazing some of them very lifelike :)

I have a Nikon D70s camera + Nikkor Lens :

=> 50mm f/1.4 : The best one for this hard "condition", because this lens allow you to take photos without flash in dark environment.

=> 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 : for wide angle

=> 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VRII (Vibration Reduction system) : for close angle from far...

The anti-vibration system integrated in Nikkor lens is very efficient, as you can see with the here above photo :

Photos details : zoom @ 210mm , aperture f/5.6 ; exposure time 0,167 sec (1/6) !! (without monopod)

=> hopefully the guy has just moved his left hand :o)

Next time I will come with a monopod, because it was quite hard to take photos without it.

What camera and lens did you use? My girlfriend has a Rebel XT EOS 350, and I'm thinking of getting a better lens with a faster shutter, the stock one isn't great for action shots, moving people, or shaky hands.

First of all thank you for your post. :p

The lens and camera used are described on my previous post #11 (just here above).

To take photos with a fast shutter (ie. for sport photography) you may use a lens with a large aperture (example : f1.2 or f1.4), combined with an increase of your ISO.

The problematic of the large aperture is that you have a short deep of field, and the problematic of increased the ISO is that you will have more "noise" on your photos (it depends on your camera captors and model. Normaly Canon can use highest ISO without noise than Nikkon).

As usual, all depends of your budget (large aperture lens cost a lot, and no-noisy camera too)

Co1nCo1n, have we already met @ ESWC? Anyway your shots are also impressive and I'm glad to see skilled people up on it!

ESWC masters were just fine this year featuring some of the hottest fights I've seen so far. It was also particular for me as Sony picked me to take official shots for the GT5 Open giving me access to the stage.

My camera is a Canon 400D (rebel xti) with 28-135 f3.5 5.6 IS USM (stabilized), 17-40 F4.0 L USM , 50mm f1.4 USM and speedlite 430EX.

I'll spend my holydays in Japan in the beginnig of August, so expect some wacky shots soon.

Please don't be afraid to register on Flickr and leave comments over there as well as it allow us photographers to get a better reach and audience coverage for esports shots.

Salut Dj ph, on ne s'est jamais vu (mais on s'est certainement croisé avec nos APN dans nos mains, mais comme on se connait pas on a jamais tapé la discussion :-).

A l'occasion (un prochain event sur panam) on poura peut-être se croiser et discuter photo (je vois que t'as du bon matos niveau objo, c'est d'ailleurs indispensable pour ce genre de prises de vues en intérieur :o)

Je ne sais pas si tu le connais, mais j'apprécie aussi beaucoup le travail que fait (entre autre) Yves Malenfer sur la photographie esportienne (je l'ai d'ailleurs vu roder dans les allées de l'ESWC.master).
