or one line longer...

set switch "vstr switch_rl"
set switch_rl "weapon 5; set switch vstr switch_rg"
set switch_rg "weapon 7; set switch vstr switch_rl"
bind q "vstr switch"

but if you want to change bind you dont have to change vstrs

huh? why not just bind weapons the normal way?

set switchrl "weapon 5; set switchtoggle vstr switchrail"
set switchrail "weapon 7; set switchtoggle vstr switchrl"
set switchtoggle "vstr switchrl"
bind mouse1 "vstr switchtoggle"

Should be working fine, cba to try it in game.
