havent looked at his cfg but remember that there are many factors that determines your in-game sens other than the sens setting itself.

ingame sens value doesn't tell shit anyway.

and the value is just as much correlated to lg accuracy....

sens is affected by:

-your operating system

-operating system sensitivity

- your mouse

-the mouse drivers

- the mouse drivers set sensitivity

-the dpi of your mouse

I'm not sure how AA works in real time 3d acceleration but when rendering, in it's most simplified form, it is similar to raising the resolution and then scaling it down to get the soft edges. Maybe AA affects mouse sensitivity as if you were playing with a higher resolution.

What I tired to say? Sens 5, fov 90, m_yaw/pitch 0.018, accel 0.1 results in fast mouse movement, which I think, can't produce so high lg acc's against the top players. Sens 2 seems to be more logical. And he has btw a very large mousepad.

I think all of those configs are BS. There has got to be a lot of autoexec.cfg action that we're not seeing, or else every one of them uses fov90. That alone is plenty to make me suspicious.

I guess all players just uploaded there baseq3/q3config.cfg and not the one in the cpma folder? I also doubt he's playing at fov 90 really, and perhaps he was using these "vstr weaponX" etc in the cpma/q3config? Would have loved to see his hud file too, but I guess only Vo0 got the picture and uploaded both his autoexec collection in the cpma folder and his baseq3 folder :)

i did too, but most of the player use really low fov, 90 - 95 - 100 .. and teh french used like 110 or 120

fox for example uses cg_fov 90 BUT he also has cg_zoomfov at around 105-110. and then he activates the zoom so that he's always zooming.

it's an old trick to make the LG thinner on the screen. used to use it myself back in the days.

Ye these configs where retarded. Cypher's one using sens 5 and accel 0,1 with that huge open crosshair and the 90 fov doesn't make sense. I also think there must be autoexec or something.

it was taken from the cpma folder. I just tested it by removing my auto exec and just loaded cpma with my q3config.cfg and all my setting were there. So ya he plays with 90 fov.

You can do just as well with high sens as low sens - it just depends on what is more comfortable for you.

I changed from 2.27, to 3.1, to 6.2 (I know I know ingame sens doesnt say much but that's the only thing that changed, so after 3.1 it doubled to 16cm/360) and still my aim improved.

And how would you know? I have my sens at about 9-10 in/360 and can aim it just fine in any game. It's true that notable LG aimers typically have low sensitivity, but that does not make an excellent high-sens LG impossible.

I tried cypher's config just a few minutes ago, with fov 90 (mine is about 120) and I had a big increase on all stats: RG 55,5%, PG 43,4%, MG 33,3%, LG 38% (mostly because fov, I guess)

I usually play with fov 130 or "smth like it" (from my old osp times) so with my cfg I can't even come close to these stats, even if I'd watch my stats every 2 seconds
I did not think changing fov from 130 to 90 will have such an impact, that's why I did not give such importance on this matter, not to mention I played with different sensitivity (cypher's sens) and I got such stats (!) :-o

When I first started Q3test, I used a 75 - and was able to control it to a degree. Shoddy aim, but I was able to control it none the less. =D

When I first started playing Q3 at the start of 2004 I had sens 5 accel 5 or something similar on my Logitech Dual Optical (So 800dpi). I'm pretty sure the mouse was broken :)

Toxic uses accel. he recommended it to fox as a matter of fact, I remember fox mentioning it in one of his interviews.

fox has been using small amounts of accel on and off for ages (I remeber seeing quite a few fox configs over time, sometimes he had 0 sometimes he's had 0.1 etc).

I've never seen a q3 config from toxic with accel but I've only seen one or two.

but please think about that these players use this mouse ever since they play quake or for a very long time..
as that mouse came out..it was good..so they got it..

now they are comfortable with it..and probably would not change even if there were technically better ones..look what mouse zero4 used in his best times..a ball mouse

so if you have input that is comfortable for you..rather stick too it..since most stuff is technically OK..
if you consider switching to other gear..you better think ..REALLY THINK ABOUT if you are the kind of person who can take losses and uncomfort for quiet some time..maybe weeks just because of your input device..

But you would get the "movement" sens and accel for rocket and grenades, then the rest require slow hand movement (different sens) and then rail which imo is a combination of both.

I still don't understand how some people like fox is able to move with 3.25 sens and 0 accel, and I have the same mouse. The movement is so slow that for example jumping to RA in ztn while you turn and aim down with the railgun becomes a pain the ass for me (requires a huge hand movement).

Fox uses 2.75 accel 0.1, and maybe you're just not used to low sens, 3.25 isnt even that high, I know players who use a LOT lower sensitivity.
