I thought I'd taken things about as far as they could go but looking at your screenshot it seems there's still more you can do. How the hell did you make the walls pink?
Thanks a lot. It looks like it's the r_mapoverbrights 7 that makes things pink and it really helps see your opponent. It definately can't be used with r_fullbright 1 at the same time as the two together makes things a little too funky.
wow, if idsoftware are still going to allow all this custom shit then its a disaster. Just make it all through the GUI and solve all this crap. There is no need for it.
you loat moan q3 is all aim based and you go rape the shit out of the config files like this:/
Lastly old maps will ruin qlive, new players will give in the second they play someone on an old map who knowns every single sniping angle/tactic. What's the point in having a ladder system if the second you progress to a semi-decent standard you realise you're playing against the current set of q3 players with a 9 year advantage on t4, dm6. it will destroy any incentive to carry on for new players.
How hard is it to design a dozen new maps for a 9 year old game and then release a few more over the following months?
Jamerio is just bitter that he sucks and blames it on players being more experienced than him and having memorised the maps.
It's funny since he comes from the fighting game scene (As he has so often told us, Killer Instinct champion or whatever) where if you don't memorise everything you don't stand a chance.
Old maps are good because they are. Must not be changed randomly, but add one new map to the mappool, test it, and if doesn't work just discard it and add another.
Add some uncharismatic new maps, ruin the classics, and ruin the game.
Personally wish they would force the gfx on in qlive to prevent all the messing about with configs as you are at a disadvantage visually to someone who does mangle their graphics.
I am colorblind so its even harder for me without picmip, but i would still rather that and have the game lookin half decent.
