Does that ping difference makes ANY difference with CPMA? I don't think so, the same way as it doesn't with LG or Rail for example. But if it does please (anyone) explain and enlighten me.
BTW question's rockets WERE stronger (much better placed)
but why? I don't understand that, since with CPMA's netcode there's "no lag", I mean, no matter if your ping is 10 or 100, when you press the fire button the rocket goes immediately...
Because I've seen people with high ping (80/100/150) shoot (and hit) rockets as they were on lan... (which is the same thing that happens to hitscan weapons, shoot them as you were on lan)
Sure when you spec other people you don't see their delay...If you honestly can't notice the difference yourself then I'm not quite sure how else to explain it.
Start up your q3 and fire some rockets, then connect to a random server where your ping is 100 or more, if you can't notice the difference by then, I can't help you.
all right, I played on a server with 250+ ping. and well, it was horrible because it takes 250ms to SEE the rocket you fired, as well as lg, rail, any other weapon. And other bad things happen with this enormous ping, HOWEVER, I managed to hit a lot of rockets (not spam ones) as I were with much lower ping or lan (and that is my main point), which is still very good as with 250 ping with baseq3 or osp I probably woudn't hit anything.
It's obvious that, even so, it's not really possible to play with that ping, especially on hub (portals "lag" too)...
However, stating (as one did above) that 30 ms is good for rockets but 50 is not (or whatever the number is, as long as the difference between then is 20) and that THIS was the reason why question's rockets were better is to push the bar too much for the "ping side" instead of the "skill" one. That could be correct if it was OSP for example, but not CPMA.
rail/lg/mg (ie hitscan weapons) have lag compensation. non-hitscan (rl/gl/pg) do not and are total shit in cpma with >30 ping. consider yourself enlightened.
i believe he writes it in proper english, translates it with babelfish/google to russian and then back to english. (maybe even with some in between stops in other languages)
I loved you, and a trace of that love's passion
Unquenched within my soul may yet remain;
But all I seek is not in any fashion
To sadden you or bring you further pain,
I loved in silence, hopelessly, but dearly,
Now shyly; now with jealousy aflame;
I loved you, O so fondly, so sincerely -
God grant to you another's love the same.
But ZTN was very nice too, both players making impressive shots / plays. Especially that one when it looked like Cypher would get the RA easily, but then Question goes through the portal, rushes and moving pretty fast DENIES him with an impressive rail shot, with Cypher at the end of the jump for the RA already...
yes he did. he played very wel on ASUS Summer 2007, where he made the final and lost to nobap. There are few demos of it on cyberfight. A mappack of the Spring 2007 event: click
cypher looked a bit unlucky on ztn and couldnt really read questions play, cbf watching dm9, but pt4 looked more close but ping made the difference on pt4 i guess
Man, I guess Cypher got out-thunk on this ztn. Questions LG was laughably bad. LG hit beeps were few and far between on a lot of his tracks. Or maybe Cypher just having a bad day?
