Any semi decent 19 in crt will do the job. Just make sure it refreshes 120hz at your game rez.
BUT, tft, seems to be the future so if you intend on going to LANS, its best not to get so stuck in your ways.
Tourneys should allow players to bring their own monitors.
Even if they insisted they were TFT, at least a player can then buy a good one, not one with a ton on input lag-which basically makes the game feel different to what they're used to expereincing 99.9% of the time.
It takes 30 seconds to swap a TFT around. No big deal compared to the effort players put in.
a car is to F1 what a mouse is to q3. suggesting players be allowed to bring their own monitor would be like allowing F1 drivers to choose their individual route for the same race.
a mouse is to q3 what a steering wheel is to F1... that's about it. a lot of people here whined about the monitors. it's clear that it's as important to them as a mouse. i don't see anything negative about letting people bring their own monitors, especially when they're so close to mice and keyboards these days in terms of plug and play.
Fastest response time on LCD (currently) is 2ms, but that's atypical, that's just the gray to gray time they use, 'cause it looks better for marketing. 5ms is the actual average response time of even the fastest LCD's.
However, CRT response times aren't measured in milliseconds, because it's too fast. CRT response times are measured in nanoseconds.
