clanbase lamers!!!
ROFL UT EuroCup i think they will find more quake teams for a quake ec !!!! nuuuuubs !!quake.tdm was the whole time a part from the clanbase cups but i think the cb leaders like to support nubies / bad games more then quakers.
bad decision no q3.tdm :(((, i dont know if only a supervisor missing or whazzup in the cb head brains =)
Q3 NG = Quake 3 Noghost, stupid mode seems like baseq3, sucks.
for warsow, very nice to play in tdm!!! but not enough active tdm clans to start a nice cup.last season, only 16 teams signed up, then 8 teams or so dropped
ut community on is much, much better than the q3 community in terms of getting off their arse and doing admin work which is why ut always has plenty of cups
This mod will allow you to modify just about every variable within your quake game, all controlled from the server and requiring no client side download or mod. The NoGhost mod allows a server administrator to control all the fine details of the quake server, everything from the amount of armor each person spawns with to how fast people can change weapons.
because every server admin changes the settings to what he likes and it would be very annoying to find a server with the default settings.
Besides that, whats the point in letting the server admin decide how the game has to feel? Not to mention that it would also split the community.
To state my point a bit better, if there's some effort/knowledge requiered to change the game like its used to be (mods) it would be easier to have an overview (dunno if this is the right word) about it.
So, with NoGhost every "newb" is able to set up the game like he wants. In the first look its a good thing, no doubt. But giving the public so much rights to administrate their game, will result in a total mess.
'because every server admin changes the settings to what he likes and it would be very annoying to find a server with the default settings.'
They already can do that, only with a varying degree of possibilities. If go play a mod with a knowledge it WILL modify the game.
'Besides that, whats the point in letting the server admin decide how the game has to feel? Not to mention that it would also split the community.'
That's the entire point of making game mods, you know. To change the game? Some change mechanics, some change functionality, some change the feel. As for community splittage, that's the mods community problem, don't you think?
'So, with NoGhost every "newb" is able to set up the game like he wants. In the first look its a good thing, no doubt. But giving the public so much rights to administrate their game, will result in a total mess.'
Apparently, it doesn't. NG didn't appear out of nowhere just yesterday.
I have a vague feeling that you don't really know what you're talking about, sorry.
ng exists since q3 was updated to 1.17
it's taking place in clanbase since 2006
it's community number is slightly bigger than cpm (not including the random newbs)
No i think you don't get my point. Surely, guys know "i am playing noghost mod right now", but as far as i've understood, server admin can decide if the baseups is 320 or for an example 600.
So, lets stay with my example, the server has 600ups as default running speed. Because the admin thinks that otherwise the game would be to slow. Or vice versa, another server admin wants to have CS in q3. So he lowers the speed, removes the accelearion while strafing etc. So you have to deal with different settings, inside the Mod. And that is what i was talking about, you've got some guys who want it like admin #1 set it up, or like #2.
I know that this mod is old, since its released for 1.16. I've never played it, so i can't tell if my theory is actually the case. But i think so.
Works fine enough for NoGhost to continue having a community, doesn't it? Same can be said for Excessive+.
You also completely miss the fact that if some admin fucks up something to the point it'll annoy players they'll... stop going to his server. They will simply use other servers, and so on, and so on. I've seen it happen.
As far as i can see, you're saying noghost is crap only because you're conservative.
cb ng has strict rules about server side variable usage which implies mainly into avoiding exploits (which are now fixed/blocked/cheat protected in the latest noghost release)
because
"This mod will allow you to modify just about every variable within your quake game, all controlled from the server and requiring no client side download or mod. The NoGhost mod allows a server administrator to control all the fine details of the quake server, everything from the amount of armor each person spawns with to how fast people can change weapons."
is a copypasta from NoGhost's site ("About the NoGhost Mod" part)
so I don't see how "please get a clue before saying such shit.. " applies
explain your trolling please
but I guess you're a typical idiot who don't know the basics of forum posting, because your 1st comment was certainly aimed to Comment #25 and not me, anyway
These cups are held for European countries (including Russia) and Israel. Clans/players from other countries can apply but they'll have to play on European servers and hours (in the evening on the CET timezone), if they ever get accepted.
Correct.. I've played Noghost three or four times when i was bored .. and it's really annoying.
Can't even understand why people play it .. if it was 8 years ago i would.
I guess admins aren't very up to date to what's going on these days .. and the fact that quake 3 his a very active game you can rely on to. Someone tell them please?
I know that.. just stating that the mod feels like your playing against xaero in hurt me plenty.
For those who are used to play the REAL game.. it's absurd.
But well.. you noghost players go and have fun!
I just assumed that with this massive consecutive quake 3 1on1 tourneys.. many players would be interested in start playing again, maybe an tdm competition.. but i might be wrong aswell..
