For the ESWC Masters of Athens we based our choice more on international results than national results. So we made our choice a lot on the ESWC Grand Final 2008 results which are also the most recent. And in this tournament Linkin did better results than Strenx in the first group stage. Same for Matr0x than Vo0:

Good point. I agree, there's a very big step in terms of high-pressure LAN tournaments rather than sitting in the comfort of your own home playing from a setup you're used to at times of your choosing in online tournaments.

But I have to agree with vkl with Question or K1llmaster, both look extremely solid, and proven players. Wish that they'd get an opportunity to show what they can do on a big LAN like this. Hopefully K1llmaster and Question get a chance to play later in the season.

Regardless, the invites are all top quality players, this will be a great tournie!

all i wanted to say is, that i would like to see some of the very strong internet player in a lan tourney....maybe some other time. and the reason they didn´t sign up (who knows, might be money)

True, it would be nice to see some of those online wonders on LAN. The ESWC is pretty renowned and there is no reason for them not to take the result in their tournaments as basis for the invitations. It is also the most reliable info for them I guess.

That having said. It would be pretty interesting to have 1 or 2 "wild card" spots.
