Not for free, no. There is however a mini version of the game, including the expansion (without the music and movies) which is only 23MB large, as the game is so old most people do not seem to care much about it being copied.

the 23 MB Starcraft doesn't support playing replays
it's multiplayer only and the Load Replay section is in the singleplayer menu which when accessed crashes the game :)

I'm saying u don't have to load a replay from the single player menu, it's possible to create a game (just choose a replay) when on BNet.

you can also start a UDP game and load the replay instead of the map.
alltho sc+bw costs something like 15$ in a dvd case

what should i do to watch sc:bw replays in "first person". i'd like to lay down and watch replays through the game instead some shitty korean cast. and no, i dont want to scroll up and down - the camera may follow players moves.

Yes, you can use the WGTour Launcher for that, from http://www.wgtour.com/ilintar/WGTSetup.exe

However, I wouldn't recommend playing it in first person view unless you are quite familiar with starcraft, as the moves are generally so fast it can make it difficult to get a good picture of the actual game.

i am very familiar with starcraft, thank you :) its i just cant "enjoy" the match while i have to click and move my mouse to actually see some action. one of the biggest letdowns in strategy games so far i think.

when i played a bit sc, i used to record real fpreplays of myself to see how fast i was getting (was kind of my main goal to get faster ;> ).

its very comfortable to watch a replay like that because you see every mouse movement.
but watching a replay like this in fp is just a pain in the ass because every mouseclick the player does is handled liek its done in center-screen, and this just makes the screen jerk around like crazy.

if the players wouldnt complain about the filesize so much, fpreplays would be awesome. but they are roughly as big as quake3 demo.
and somehow rts players don't like replay files >500kb or something

What's the difference?

starcraft.rar is the full version of BroodWar v1.13f (a patcher for all versions is included)

miniscbw.exe is a 7ziped version of the multiplayer part only (no video, no music, no campaigns). Playing through Battlenet is still available and you can look replays.

All of these versions works (tested), any trouble comes down to the cd-check protection.

I'm not exactly good at Starcraft, but that game looked great.

The commentator also made it much more interesting imo (YouTube vid)

He's saying that if Draco had lost to Mondragon (another player in the same group) then Midas (stronger player than Mondragon) would not have reached the playoffs, but he won the game and Midas progressed - ie Drago didn't throw the game to give himself an easier potential bracket, like Cooller did/was reputed to have done in 2002
