Just wanted to inform you Starcraft fans out there that there is a stream from Blizzcon '08 with their little Starcraft invitational tourney showing. Tasteless, Artois and DjWheat doing the commentary.
As far as I know he doesn't do Starcraft at all. He barely ralk during the games, it's mosly Tasteless with some Artois on the side.
Yeah, I agree with you that the casting of the gomtv.net games have been lacking some since Little Susie joined up with Tasteless, but it's nice to have her around some times when she does interviews with the players and stuff since she speak korean.
I think they will give us some Warcraft 3 games now instead of Starcraft, which kinda sucks. WC3 ain't nearely as interesting as Starcraft. What do you think?
Tasteless had such a great rhythm to his casts before she showed up, and now he has to interrupt her when something big goes down, or he has to wait to point something important out because she's either asking a question or rambling on. I know she's new, and she brings Korean interaction, but I just don't think she's cut out for the job. Someone like djwheat would be SO much better, even if he isn't in on it now. Tasteless and Wheat are the only two casters that I like - the rest are either annoying, boring, or just plain don't know what they're doing.
WC3 is zzz, so I'll just leave it streaming in the background until SC is on again. Anything to give more hits to the RTS stream, in hopes that we give it more attention than the WoW stream and Blizzard finally lets it die.
WC3 is boring and WoW is fucking rediculus to even consider as a competetive game, even less a game you would want to spectate. Starcraft on the other hand is amazing, it's incredible to see the top players play!
At least WC3 is passable as a professional game, even if it's nowhere near as good as SC, but WoW is just horribly unbalanced and completely uninteresting to play/watch. I don't see how the same company that can make such a masterpiece like SC can turn around and churn out this crap. Granted, I know it wasn't spotless when it first came out, but what is it with developers who completely forget everything they have done in the past when they make a new game?
I actually liked both wc3 and wow, but I can't understand what the hell's going on in a typical competitive wow round. It just all seems like a complete mess to me with 6 guys throwing shit all over the place and then someone just dying.
You have to play arena enough to understand what all is going on. Even with a shoutcaster, there's too much that goes on, and too many little details that just don't matter, and would take far too long to explain during the fight.
Idra beat yellow, which was awesome... and Savior has been kicking some ass for the first time in a long time. Won against Jangbi with a 5pool rush. =D
SC2 will have 3 different versions. Each version costs the same, and is an individual campaign for the race you want. Each game will be a full 40 hour campaign, though, so it's not that big of a deal. I'm fairly certain they can all play any race in MP, however.
Big Tournaments, lots of money, shoutcasters, big crowed, decent stage, good coverage, and even DirectTV coverage.
Either Quakecon needs to step up their game, or Blizzard needs to make a 1v1 FPS.
Blizzard seems like a company that cares about competition, and the community. They still patch SC, WC3, etc. I think a 1v1 FPS from them (Even if the characters are stupid) would be pretty interesting.
