Java has nothing to do with JavaScript though.

Of course I have the latest, but that has nothing to do with the errors. Did you try enabling the “Display a notification about every script error” (I am talking about IE 7, advanced options). By default it doesn’t show them. They are errors though and no version will make them disappear.

Out of interest why do you have that option enabled? And why are you bothering to use IE7 when there are better browsers out there?

I need for my work (need to see the errors before the users). IE7 is not a bad browser and if you develop web applications in asp.net is a sensible choice (since asp.net is written having IE mainly in mind, they are both developed by Microsoft)

Did you decide to learn asp.net out of choice or simply because the job market is crying out for asp developers?

Anything Microsoft related just seems like more hassle than it's worth. I don't know why companies even use Microsoft products these days when there are free, open source equivalents out there.

I have worked in most known platforms, languages and databases and nothing compares to me and many others to .net. Is like the Ferrari of development platforms. I actually don’t know anyone that has worked in .net and prefers something else. I pursued to specialize in asp.net, since I always go for what I like doing most. I have worked as Oracle developer & consultant (borrowing) and windows application developer (nice and I still do windows projects), but web application programming in asp.net is far more challenging, exciting and creative. If you want to do web applications, you don’t have many choices. For websites you can work in whatever you want and probably asp.net is not a good choice (I wouldn’t recommend it). For web applications though you need something really powerful.

That is my opinion of course :) I might be a bit biased, since I really like it

There is a right tool for each job. I really like C# as the best language out there, but the ASP.NET actual platform is way too rigid to be universal winner. They didn't even the have MVC feature until very recently.... It's a win/lose scenario if you like the "master pages" or the imo crappy ajax functionality, or the imo crappy windows platform consisting of IIS and the really crappy SQL Server. But I would pick ASP.NET for many kinds of projects, especially if they need to be interoperable with windows.

I use both. Why I have to justify what java version, browser, IE options I use for an error :P ? It doesn't work in Firefox too and all the browsers. You just don't see the error, but the probably minor feature that this script was written for, won't work.

I have spend time in replying, for few secs of work :P
Are you trying to convert me to an active user, from a passive (read only) one ;) ? You probably show the willingness in me to be converted, by the fact that I cared to make this forum post :P
