I remember some player in the beginngs of q2,
who was called 7th damiah, he was from denmark and also organised the edl (european duel league), but maybe I'm wrong with his name ...

EDL #1 was organized by Lucas (poland), 2nd and 3rd by Syanid (finland), 4th and 5th by ph (sweden), 6th by Syanid again.. no damiah in admin crew (you can check the EDL page and league stats for particular seasons)

maybe he means the real EDL LAN back in '99, with blue, shub, rufus, maka, etc

yes, the maka-blue game. If I remember correctly blue won closely on dm1, after which maka said 'your ass is mine on dm3!', and indeed went to win dm3.

Blue completely destroyed maka on dm1. Maka whined about having basement machinegun spawn :)

Maka was at first arrogant when coming to europe to school european players, then pissed off when blue just kept piling up frags :D

i think this is one of the rare times european duelers won over american ones. Usa is better at duel. Europe at teamplay.

shub'nigga was norwegian and part of memento mori (clan) if i remember correctly. I remember a demo with an amazing first frag : he mid air roxed an opponent jumping to mh. I am still wondering how he guessed he was there !? :o

About the demos:
i had downloaded them all... And lost them all with a hard disk crash. I don't think i burnt them on cd ? will have to check when i have time.

Wow, I just remembered this event when chatting with a buddy about old-school online gaming.
Even though it took a while, I finally found a few sites with basic info on the EDL in 1999. Took a while mainly because I did not remember it was in 1999.
This event was organized mainly by me (original idea, sponsors, website, etc - don't remember my nick back then, but I think it was "Splash") and oWo (match scheduling/observing, etc).
Good to see it is still remembered by some people.
At that time Thresh and Immortal did not react to our requests - those two and Makaveli were basically considered the top 3 duellers in the US at that time.
The whole motivation behind the event was mainly that I liked watching top matches and that the US scene was talking so much crap about us EU Q2 players, so that's how it started... I was 16 lol.

as makaveli came from the USA, they flew him in to play the winner, in this case, shub and if i remember right they played 2 games best of 3, which maka won both 2-1.

And 7th chapter is indeed a legendary q2-team from denmark, ending up on second place in EUROQUAKE LAN held in london back in 1999. Their best dueler was doomhammer, and they had a player in their tdm-squad called daimar.

They played 3 maps. Maka won 2 with 3-1 and one with 3-0, because Shub typed "kill me please so that the score wont be 3-1 again" in console, resulting in "Shub killed himself.

7th Chapter is a legendary Danish q2 clan and was probably the second best q2tdm clan in europe behind MM back in the day, they also played some ra3 after q2 I think, so maybe that's why you assume he is a q3 player, lol.

I wouldn't call any clan playing for less than ~3 years legendary. Damiah's clan (2.0) been around for +10 years and still going very strong, now that's legendary!
