nice quality, clean simple editing, no bullshit intro/outro and lots and lots of frags.

i usually close videos like these after the first minute but the frags were so fucking awesome that i watched the entire thing. you really have some skills... could have taken out all the other players and still have a solid frag show here. great content.

i disagree. this demo + winamp style usually bores me to death and i'm not the only one who thinks so. you'll find the people over at own-age.com have a very different perspective on how a quake video should be. imho, a good video is one that finds the right balance between style and content. 3rd person, slow mo, motion blur etc can be really effective when used well. the trouble is, people (myself included) tend to go overboard with them at times, leading to crazy cams where you can't tell wtf is going on and very blurry picture.

most people here won't agree with me, i know. my favourite quake video btw, is 99% cams. there's only one pov shot iirc.

hate such vids, especially in defrag videos its killing me not to be able to see the real skill of the player.

A good fragmovie got to have a good balance of editing, 3rd and 1st povs to not get monotone. Some frags may be so awesome so u got to have slowmo to really suck up the moment. Showing up alot of good frags very fast feels like a waste.

I find editing very important to give the movie a kind of atmosphere, movies without it feels pretty soulless imo. It got to have some type of personal touch to it. I dont like to see those vids like just a portfolio for showing of skill, its a piece of art and it should be showed carefully from different angles like any other work of art.

This vid had some insane frags and awesome quality, but could been alot better. Anyway gj!

Oh dear me, this movie seems to be born from pure ego. It would of been fine if it was just you and some of your teams POV. But no you had to try and make a claim to greatness by association. I mean why is cooller, toxic, nobap ect in there? If it was about great frags, no problem but include equal measures of different players. Not just you and then a sprinkling of pro players. Should of just had yourself in the movie, as they were all good frags.

You could spend all day playing with your mates attempting crazy shots with no consequences because it doesn’t matter if you lose. In a tournament your sole aim is to win. "Pro" players are "pro" because they are a higher skill then most players and as such are harder to kill and more likely to kill you!

...but ( :( ) next time please pay a little attention to the audio aswell. Music was clipping (a lot) even when the game was quiet. Shame on an otherwise such good movie that clearly had some time spent on making the visuals high quality (though I must say I personally don't dig the stretched widescreen).

Wow, I wasn't expecting much, and got totally blown away. The logo for the vid looks amateur and was expecting some nub frags with house music playing in the background. =) But I was pleasantly surprised! Lots and lots of high quality frags, brings me back to Annihilation days (minus the editing of course).

The editing was minimal, and that's fine. But editing in the hands of someone skillful can make the experience quite a bit more entertaining. This frag video borders on legendary if a bit more effort was given to the editing (music synching + variety in time control + good recams when appropriate). Otherwise, the config, quality, etc was top-notch. Also enjoyed the music (Master of Puppets was pure sexicals).

Didn't like the first half of this movie. Too much of ska, not enough czm/cooller/toxic. The second half of the movie was fantastic though. Music was ok, better in second half again.. If it was just on the second half I'd give an 8, but its gotta be a 7/10 for me

Editing etc: this is how i like q3 movies. The time was spent capturing at high quality. So yes, not much time was spent on the logo :O I know some cool angles etc can add a little something, but I actually prefer no editing! And the point someone made about the excess blood is noted.

Music: blame Ian :p ok so the only song I knew was used before was escape, but that was like 7 years ago? could have done with an update, besides I just love that music for frags. 56 kbit/s audio quality, oops. I'll sort it next time.

pro frag + my nib frags: Well I was marking demos for a good while, so of course I play more then I watch demos, hence a lot of my stuff and with some pros. And I tried to only include pro frags that hadn't been shown before like those que?tion frags are only recent. And this is Quake 3 after all, pros and nibs play! But for pure pro lovers, my cypher movie should accommodate that, which reminds me. Back to work... :)

I stopped to play q3 since the 31st of december 2007, after a "bet" with my team8, when I said that my 2008 new year's resolution will be to stop q3. (and to loose few kilos)

I succeeded to stop q3 (it stay 2 months before the end of the year to speak about my weight) even if at the beginning I though that it will be hard to stop after 8 years and many aborted "adios" and many comeback. That's explain certainly why my clan-m8 said to me, "cu in 2 weeks" :-).

Finally It was not so hard to stop...( "yes you can !" ) But... But...

In fact, I will resist, but the things that I can keep in mind, is that this awesome movie reminds me exactly why I loved this game during all the time that I played it.

It reminds me exactly why this game procure so much "pleasure", good vibrations and why you feel so nice like a complete symbiosis between the game and yourself (and why it allows you to do some OMG frags... that sometimes you don't even know yourself how you did them)

The genz rail run - he hits like 11 or 12 rails in a row?

My 4 rail frag on blu - at this point I was down something like 10-0. This frag turned the game around and I ended up winning like 11-10 or something...

p4j cap - he must have had < 25h for most of that. Looks so simple when you watch it, but it's just an amazing cap :>

It's also nice to see a good mix of ffa, tdm, duel and ctf imo.

Second half is about frags. Awesome frags from Panicore... some intense railgun action from Blockey in the FFA temple dm12 \o/

And of course... Blue triple air rocket !
Well, we called it that way at that time, but if you look closely, one of the rocket is actually on the wall, not on the guy. Still, at that time it was legend :D

can't remember exactly but I think cooller rocket jumps from the shards up to the GL taking a rocket rocket on the way up, as he hits the ledge and then cypher just misses a third while he's airbounre

I liked it, frags were great, as was the music choice, and length. The only minus in my oppinion is the presentation - THERE WAS NO PRESENTATION!
The best quake movie i've seen in a long while. Gave it an 8/10. With some proper presentation it could have been a 9 or 10 :)

for next time:
- more original music that people dont hear often/ever (unlike say Metallica)
- try some 3rd person. Completely 1st person and completely 3rd person sucks but a good 80-20 is alright.
- Better outro. Make a separate section for your leftover material next time as opposed to just tossing it on the end.
- cpm/qw hah jking that wont happen :P
