So griffin sends me this stash of demos and I'm like wtf do I do with em brah and he's like make me a movie yo so yea here ya go.

VQ3 with 1 CPM run.
1280x720
30fps

I didn't use motion blur cuz I wanted the vid to feel really chaotic and intense. It runs for about 4 minutes and 12 seconds. Lots of first person action for the pov freaks. Turn up the volume.

This movie is NOT suitable for finnish movie directors and their sidekicks

I hear what you're saying, however, a 1337GET on ESR isn't much of a feat. Unless you think the actually tendency of threads that get up to such amount of comments are rare enough to make it seem like something that's hard to accomplish.

no thank you :) btw... i used your x264 encoding tool from the site to encode that offline. however i'm not entirely pleased with the quality i got from it. are there any specifications to adhere to like resolution, container and bitrate? i'll try a manual encode just for streaming.

It's more artistically done (especially the end), but the frags are worse. Definately watch the end ;)

im guessing just cl_avidemo and record sound with something like Audacity
then turn the ss's into avi's with Vdub and sync in whatever editing program you use
Shaolin Productions has a great tutorial about getting the best quality from your captures
im sure most of it would be helpful for you, since rtcw is on the q3 engine

they existed in 2004 already. and yes I already did that in my vids.
that is merge 120 pics per second in vdub and add some motion blur not as much as yours though and the edited in Premiere and did a few effects in After Effects.

Except sound capture cause the mg sounds are just to much. So i added explosions and such by hand.

sorry to say that but capturing is pretty much the easiest part :/ it's just very time intensive.

haven't tried cs3 but in the older premiere pro you just set up a new project and change the fps there. my version only goes up to 60 tho. That's why I preprocessed in vdub.

But you really should be asking ashr or someone else this cause I'm just an amateur too :)

I think the 30fps is a stylistic choice. ashr said he used no motion blur so it would look more gritty, I think anything above 30fps would also smooth out the video, probably would ruin the look he was going for.

well, I still see a demo from the Finals every now and then, but since there was the tournament in Athens recently, I tend to watch those first. And I dont watch a lot either, at most a couple/week...

Ahah, I think you got it, bro. CPMA done by Vo0 had pretty sparse editing and was still awesome. If Vo0 delivers the quality frags (I'm sure he will) and you deliver the quality editing (I'm sure you will), then we'll probably end up with the greatest CPM frag video of all time. allright, nothing really memorable but it's probably due to quantity of quake videos produced over the years with some of them touching another dimension frag-wise (sqf) .. music was meh but not that horrible and i really like that someone still decides to make a simple 1st person fragmovie that actually focuses on frags and not intro/outros, flybys and stuff.. tho some synced slowmo/different angle scene of a really good frag would make it stand out more (and memorable maybe)
still..if this style meets cpm and especially good frags from vo0, i'm first in the line to grab it

A little bit too random, I think... Some nice scenes and fine editing with horrible background music. I mean it's a frag movie and you delivered frags but I wanna see either more actual gameplay or some really fancy effects and cuts. And I do agree that generally people are never open-minded enough when it comes to the music. But I feel that I'm usually overly accepting of different styles of music. For instance, I actually enjoyed this movie. But I wouldn't listen to that music at my leisure under any circumstances, but it worked with the movie. :/
