personally i hate razer mice (don't like the shape) - currently have a roccat kone and before that around 5 years with mx518 and g5
i'm using a steelpad qck+ which is big (40x45cm) but you have to see what you can play best with - laser mice ALWAYS have negative acceleration (dunno what mouse you currently have but this is distracting when switching from a normal optical one) and in case you're playing with a high sensitivity (in game sensitivity doesn't matter, calculate your cm/360° - meaning: how many centimeters do you have to move your mouse for a 360° turn in the game) you're probably better of with a plastic or glass mousepad instead of a soft one which would be best if you're playing slow (like me for example with 28cm/360°)
in addition to that: if you're playing a low sensitivity you should adjust your mouses DPI it (high sens = high DPI, low sens = low DPI)
and you should play with a polling rate as high as it goes stable (get USBrate.exe and mouserate.exe or something similar to test if 1000Hz works fine or if 500 is more stable for you - you can find that somewhere here on ESR - try using the search function)

Don't bother with the Lachesis, it seems to just cause more trouble than it is worth. The Deathadder is good, though. That plus whatever large cloth pad you can find in your local / online shops will do you just fine.

ignore both, cause they both suck and cost a lot. deathadder can work, but you need to put a lot of time into it. if you really wanna buy razer, go for the diamondback or salmosa ( i've got salmosa, its awesome)

or just buy wmo.

i tried deathadder with latest firmware and it still had liftoff bug. no thanks.

I'm probably just used to it then, but I'm an extreme low senser so I guess it's less likely that I would have problems with it

then again, the 8bit data path of the 3.0/1.1 isn't really suited for low sens

how can an extreme low senser get used to the liftoff bug when u obviously need to lift the mouse many times due to the extreme low sens?

i dont use my wrist to lift I use my arm, therefore this "bug" (which I presume is the mouse still picking up when lifted only slightly) doesn't really affect me

I agree the Salmosa is a nice gaming gear but don't use this mouse with a Steelpad QcK, unless you're not a lowsenser! I experienced that the 3G Sensor runs better with bright mousepads like the QPAD CT

Buying Lachesis is probably the worst possible option. It looked promising but I have sold it two weeks after I have had bought it.

fit's in my hand well, and i only use mouse1 and 2, regardless of the mice i've ever used.
the sensor isn't picky about surfaces either, whereas with the mx310 and the deathadder greatly disliked the qck heavy i use

I went straight from the ie3.0 to deathadder with 0 problems. I had no problems before updating it, but I did anyways just to be up to date. I still never understood the "liftoff" problems. I use a steelpad qck. If you can afford it get the MAMBA! HOLY SHIT 2ms WIRELESS! I can't wait to get rid of my mouse cord...

Yeah man, it's entirely too impressive. I asked dkt about it, he said its outstanding. I thought he was bullshitting on the razer site but NOPE!

Razer makes great mouse pads but their mice are hit or miss and rather expensive. I'd advise strongly against the Lachesis, mainly because the shape is very ackward and unnatural ergonomically, along with all the reported issues. Deathadder would be a sound choice and has a shape most gamers seem to accept. Personally though, after having been through several Razers, a G5 and a 518 (which eventrually died), I took the leap and bought a WMO which I was hesitant because it's so ridiculously cheap. But alas, I haven't felt the need to switch to any other mouse since. I do own a 3.0 and it's a great mouse but I like the symmetrical shape of the wmo more along with how easy it is for flick shots (very light and easy to grip). The beauty is in its simplicity, as has been said many a time.

Not sure whether you're papercloth or plastic kind of guy but I find cloth better because it provides feedback and control via higher friction versus the glide of a plastic pad. I'd reccomend trying out a Razer Mantis or the Steelseries QcK+. You really can't go wrong with those.

Lachesis has a weird shape and the sensor completely sucked until just recently when they released new firmware. I guess its all fixed now.

If you don't need those extra buttons I'd suggest you get DeathAdder. This mouse will work on most surfaces unlike Lachesis.

For DeathAdder get any good cloth gaming pad. Razer makes good ones. I have Everglide Titan big orange pad and its awesome but I dunno if they are still in business, I haven't checked.

Of course my advice to you would be to get Diamondback old version but you asked for DeathAdder/Lachesis so go for DA, its a better mouse.

EDIT: I have Destructor and its a good pad but it makes too much noise when you bang your mouse on it.
