On personal level I've thought this behaviour thing quite a bit because of observations of people I've known all my/their lives and how and when they figured out they were actually gay and started to act accordingly: The somewhat feminine behaviour was there all along from childhood til youth. I always wondered why they didn't feel home playing rough games with "normal boys", sports, wars, fights and so on, but they chose to spend time hanging around with girls in their childhood and youth doing... yes, talking, chatting, giggling, being generally more group-oriented than us other immortal young alpha-blokes promoting ourselves as individuals in any given opportunity. Mind you this all is from my perspective, and some old pals have agreed with me on the observations and the theory when we talked.

Then there's fags I've become friends with afterwards, some of them have a kid or three, divorced and turned into homosexuality (or bi rather) at older age, some at 50s. Naturally they have learned the 'fairy' behaviour from the native queers afterwards, yet it comes out so very much exaggarated it's hilarious. Hell, spending time with these blokes is always so much fun but it almost makes me (quite heavily masculine in acts and antics) talk almost like them, altho it's mostly for laughs. MOSTLY, not always, which is extremely embarrasing. ;)
