This morning on Spiegel.de some German dude named Von Mathias Hamann announced that AMD will stop sponsoring e-sport organizations such as SK-Gaming and the WCG (no more pro-gamers at CeBIT this year). This probably concerns Frag Dominant and x6tence as well.

its a hard step for the pro-clans and some tourneys.
i dont think this way has to do with the finance crisis. its a test for the companys if they can sell/do advertising without esport. and we all know, they can. casual gamer is the magic word. theres no need for the big companys to do something for esport nowadays.

This is bad.

UPDATE 13:35 CET: GotFrag has spoken with the ESL that claim the situation is not presented entirely correct by Spiegel.de. ESL will issue a statement rectifying the truth in the story at a later time.

spiegel.de has content from writers of the print magazine and free authors only for the digital content.
the digital/site writers are not so reliable as the print writers. they want the quick sensational story. i had to do with them...
