the queueing in quakelive is no worse than the average walking time between two in WoW, so it's safe to expect a community of 8+ million players.

Hmm? People actually recently complained that the game was feeling too small because it was too easy to get around. If it takes you more than 2 minutes to get somewhere, you're doing it wrong.

well, last time I checked (roughly 3/4 year ago) my roommate had to take the plane (some sort of dragon or whatever) for 10+ mins to reach his target destination, only to wait endlessly for scripted events, then die within 2mins and repeat the whole scenario. yawn. :<

The longest reasonable flight was 5-6 minutes about 3-4 years ago - that would be UC->Kargath. You could fly across an entire continent which would take 10+ minutes, but there are were shortcuts in place even back in the day to help that. WoW's progression was based on skills and items (mounts to make you move faster) that simply make the same tasks take less time.

It's essentially a trial for your current account that you own. It's meant to try to get you back into the game by letting you play WOTLK with your old account for a short time.

If you do the trial, I recommend making a death knight instead of just going to northrend on your 70 as you won't get much out of that week unless you play a shit load. At least with the death knight, you can go through the whole instanced starting area and get a feel for how much they did with WOTLK.
