rota1's colour scheme depresses me! i don't really like the way it plays either from watching this demo, but i haven't played it :o.

pukka3dm1 is better in cpm 2v2 ^_^.

i don't get why cpmers are playing everything on ultra small maps even tho they got the movement to run around every normal sized map in seconds. Every cpm duel map is small as hell and the 2v2 maps got approx the size of vq3 duel maps ... (apart from hub/pt4 obviously)

imo you just said the reason, the movement in cpm allows players to escape from firefights a lot quicker and if the maps were bigger you'd never catch your opponent unless he wants to be caught / you're significally better player

I used to think that but I'm not that convinced any more, I think it's more about CPM players and mappers preferring a higher intensity that small maps give, larger maps with slower play work as long, admittedly, as there are map areas that can be used to trap opponents.

are you going to push for some larger maps in pmx?

Yes. I think it's important that a map pool represents a wide range of styles, that's the whole point of having one.

That makes me 10,000 times more interested in PMX. I can't stand 99% of cpm duel maps (All bar cpm15 really)

i disagree with you. if "the movement in cpm allows players to escape from firefights a lot quicker " just make connections between rooms more dangerous. and for examle warsow has more degrees of freedom and dodging for really easy "escape from firefights" but has big maps. and this only one thing i prefer in wsw over cpm
by the way my favorite cpm map is eizdm4-b15 which is big but and open and plays very good

when i played pukka it was always quite balanced between lg and rockets, and rail is very risky to get, and there is no ammo for rail anywhere either (unless im blind ;p)

Yeah I noticed the no-ammo thing later on in the demo:P

Do you practice the new maps a lot or just pick up on them really fast?

mostly just jumped around on them and maybe played 2 games on pukka and rota before this :)

yeah, it must be fixed too. the whole map does not have caulk and hint brushes at all!
ps: i dont have fps drops with r_mode 8 and r_ext_multisample 4 =) hd 3650

Yes, you are right.. There isnt used caulk and hints, but the biggest problem is wrong compile filter :.) ..Thats why I am so surprised that somebody choose this map for a tournament.

And because of that problems I decided to make that map again with better fps, simple brushwork, different textures and maybe better item placement.. Than it will be a good map.. I hope..

good to hear you are working on it! this can be a good map with a few changes.

i hope you will release beta versions or even alpha and listen to feadback about competition aspects of your map. by the way current rota3dm1 colour theme is very good vor competition level. so if wanna change textures dont make it too bright

Yes, surely I will.. I would be so happy If somebody advice me where to submit my beta version. I want a feadback by players, not by mappers, defragers, childrens,... :)
