Games Mini Video Contest - the winners (43 comments)

The Games Mini Video Contest, powered by Dell, was finished yesterday with live announcement of the winners via IPTV broadcaster GameSports.

Update: All Videos are now available for download. So if you want to have those videos in your collection you can download them from own3D.tv. Winners in Quake III:

1st Place - Quake Lessons by c3llux, Hungary - 250 Euro + Dell Mini 9 Netbook
2nd Place - Moment by mccormic, Hungary - 150 Euro
3rd Place - back2oldsql by dKsL, Germany - 100 Euro

Nice contest.

I don't get the cs-movies tho. Instead of originality or something progressive it's the same 'ol same 'ol point and click fraggin in every one of them.
Mr. Bassman apparently won because of "teh funniez mouzik".

Many movies fail to capture "the moment" of the frag/s.

The editors often replace "the (insert game) moment" for "the editor moment". Nothing wrong with that tough, but every fucking movie is just the same.
A *fap fap*-fest for the moviemakers.

Me, myself think CS movies should show some part of the teamplay.
A retake of Bomb-site by cordinated flashbangs, smokes and timing by 5 people is beatifull thing too see.

But since it takes huge load of skills and preparation/planning in cutting out clips and editing them so the viewer can get a sense of whats going on.

Quake Lessons was a bit funny, but even in that short time it managed to make me think "ok.. this isn't funny anymore".
