ive never changed dpi in my life and i still rape, it doesnt really matter as long as the mouse doesnt skip. dpi/resolution/whatever is close to irrelevant.

what he means is, if you have a 400dpi mouse with sens 5, and that guy asking for advice has a 1600 dpi mouse with sens 5, his sens will really be 4 times faster? So you cant really just say "default" for a mid sens ;)

i use deathadder and intellimouse 1.1 with standard drivers and used sens 5 with both, no idea what dpi they have

As I know the DA uses 1800dpi by default so maybe the 400 vs 1800 dpi matters... in my case it did.

if the dpi on the da was set to its highest you would notice a gigantic dif

looks like i made a mistake, i seem to have changed my sensitivity to 3 with 1600 dpi in razer drivers.

use the lowest that still lets you do a 180° turn without lifting the mouse, maybe a tad faster. then learn2play with that. -> low enough for good aim, fast enough for unhindered movement

set cg_marks 1 then use mg to make a decal on the wall. Then strafe left and right while keeping your crosshiar perfectly on the mark. Adjust your sensivitity until you can.

If you have a problem with moving around, I'd say set it pretty high. Its impossible to give actual values since it differs from mouse, system etc. After some time when your movement gets better, if you wish (i.e you feel that your aim is lacking due to high sens) you can lower it some.

Not that it was my plan, but that's what I've been doing. I'm playing CPM tho so it might be slightly different :)

Yea yea.. but if I want to be very much of an asshole I'd say 30cm/360° on his mouse and 30cm/360° on my mouse could be different comparing to which mouse we were using (weight) and mousepad (friction) =P.

finally i use low sens , with high sens i can do some amazing frag with rail but i missed too much easy frag
and i bought a new mouse (razer salmosa) small, light and really smooth , really cool to play with this.

low sens/high sens is opinion. you gotta tell us your cm/360 and how you move the mouse etc to get real advice

low for me is more than 40cm/360 and high 10cm/360

Try using accel, best of both worlds. Slow tracking for rail, fast flicks for running the hell out of a difficult situation then 180ºing and without losing momentum spam your enemy yay.

My personal settings are windows default driver at mid sens without precision, 400dpi, 4 sens, .2 accel. Try using accel for some days. Change only the sens as needed. Dont try it 5 mins and ragequit cause it takes some time to adapt to accel, maybe it works for you like it does for me. Maybe not.

I suggest something you can move with but doesn't exceed the mousepad length. Say 15-35 cm / 360 degrees. I use something like 30 or 35 cm.

It's important to be sensitive, otherwise she'll think you don't have any feelings, or worse, don't care about hers. Be too sensitive and she'll think you're a pussy. It is a fine line.

To the OP:

Don't just look at the dpi settings but rather try polling your mouse to 500 Hz or a number, you'll really have to try this to find the magical number that works for you. The rule of the thumb should be "higher the dpi, lower the sensi to be set in game."

Even though I believe these settings only spoil your natural aim, some find changing dpi on-the-fly a very convenient way to turn around and take a shot.

I own 3 mice and I've polled all 3 on different settings. Out of the 3, my fav is the MX518 polled to 500 Hz.

hear hear! start with 5, no accel in windows with the default sensitivity. play alot with it, but don't change it back and forth, it will just mess up your aim.
i also like to disable the accel in windows so it behaves the same as win2000. the mouse fix can be found anywhere, just google it.. or drop by tweakxp.com for the settings.

500hz is good, and most newmouses today come with these settings. 400dpi is ok i guess, think that's what I use.. havent changed it atleast.
