So anyway, I have a Sennheiser HD215 headphone, a Creative Inspire 280 Speakerset (2.0), and a quite old Creative SB Live! soundcard. Now the thing is, I don't use my headphones often, not for gaming anyway, and people keep telling me I'm nuts not to, with such a quality headphone available. Now I don't know what causes it, but when I play q3 I feel like players movement are coming from everywhere; like on dm6, when I'm on the RL platform and I hear the opponent closeby, it seems I can't hear if he is on the same platform, or on the level below. Very annoying, and that's why I'd rather play without my headphones. Does my soundcard causes this, and do I have to get a new one, or do I need to change some setting? I've tried the headphones on both my onboard card & the older pci one, with the same result.
And if I plug my headphones in my speakers rather than my sound card, would this cause any loss in quality/performance also?
