I am anticipating some kind of proof that this actually turns the cursor correction off. Anyone with a DA?

Installed the firmware(like it should be installed) and I can still draw perfectly straight lines, its much harder now, but its still possible.
If I compare it to my 1.1a, its nearly impossible to draw a perfect line with that mouse, but with deathadder, its still possible...even after this firmware update.

Seems its working 50% :/

Correction is pretty much the only thing really stopping me getting a Salmosa.

I doubt it's totally fixable with firmware though otherwise I'd expect them to have made it an option/feature a long time ago.

The Sidewinder X8 sensor sounds good wish there was a WMO with that thing in it.

I'm using the DA, I'll try this later. Maybe it's the only thing holding me back from _100_ percent rail!

Probably not, just it feels kinda lame when you're used to none (Microsoft mice don't have any).

Could you draw some circles and straight lines up/down and diagonal lines in paint and post them?
I have to see this for myself. Forgive my skepticism.

Don't remember seeing that either, even before updating. Seen these weird bumps with straight lines on top from others, tried it in paint and didn't see it. Didn't save it though and I've updated the firnware now. :P
Wasn't running it with drivers and had a registry fix, similarly to what vamp1re describes, maybe it was enough to make it at least less noticable.

PS: for you guys that updated to 1.28 firmware, and still have prediction, well, either you guys did something wrong, or you have a bad mouse. Sorry, but this workds 100%. I only tested at 1800DPI and 1000HZ. Don't if it works with other DPI / HZ settings.

Yep, it works for me too.

So I loaded the new FW, fired up paint, and tried to draw some circles. The picture is 2x crop of what I was drawing, red lines are added to show where the correction takes place.

I have to say MOSTLY its fine. But with little adjustments, like drawing a small circle, it still makes quite straight edgy lines. It really doesn't concern me while playing, I used to had WMO, and only miss the shape :P

For me the DA 1.28 feels just the same in terms of prediction as my 1.1a.

If for some reason, there is still a bit of prediction on DA 1.28, then I would have to say my 1.1a has the same bit of prediction. The difference between both are undetected.

Anyway you could do that again but with small circles like #12? Just curious if the same thing occurs with the 1.1a

Lines and circles look approximately the same when using both my newly updated Deathadder and my spare 'new' Explorer 3.0. Given that the Deathadder has 4.5 times the DPI of the 3.0 (or 4 times if the newer 3.0 really is 450DPI), that would maybe suggest that there is a bit of correction going on still, but either way the new firmware seems to have made the mouse movement much more consistant on my new mouse pad, so it's doing something right

Its about time they released this fix, its been asked for countless times.
I've a question(s) - I play on my native resolution on my syncmaster 226cw, 1680x1050 @1800dpi/500hz with in_mouse -1. I'm no longer competitive, just came back after a 4-5 year lay off and like the feel of the higher res and dpi so I don't need any lectures on using lower on both accounts :)
If your using in_mouse 1/dinput with its 12millisecond or so input delay does that negate using 500 or 1000hz? Also with such a high DPI is it possible of getting negative acceleration with the res being lower than the dpi at fov 110?

I've been trying to get an approximate accel across different dpis but it seems pretty much impossible even with some of the einsteineque formulas a couple of members have posted. So what would sens 3.5 + 0.6 accel be equal to going from 400 to 1800dpi??

I use sens 0.77 accel 0.1 and that feels kinda similar but the accel is just a guessing game and very likely much higher than 0.6. I browsed through a fewcfgs and notice jibo who is a razer user uses the in_mouse -1 and m_filter 0 (years ago it was beleieved this gave a delay not a 50% correction) which would lead me to perhaps believe he is making use of the higher polling rates via firmware - then again I see him using a mwo 1.1 - i use jibo as an example because my sens would be closest to his I spose and I use razer.
