FileFront has been bought back by the original founders from Ziff Davis Media and will NOT be shutting down.
After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to shut down FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.
We're happy to announce to the gaming community that as of today, April 1st, 2009, FileFront is a completely independent company again and is no longer part of Ziff Davis Media. All previously suspended services should be active and working again. We thank Ziff Davis Media for their cooperation and willingness to keep the site and community alive.
And no, this wasn't an April Fool's joke.

Sad news for all gamers, as of March 30th, FileFront from the Ziff Davis group, one of the most popular repositories for sharing online files and gaming videos, will be suspended due to the recent economic downfall.
Personally i liked FileFront for the easyness of uploading and fast downloading files and their gaming archive sites, for example Quake 4 FileFront, Doom3 FileFront, RtCW FileFront and other gaming community sites.
I hope everyone is getting the message of the shutdown in this short time so that important files can be moved manually to other free file hosters.
PlanetQuake.com said that Quake Files are welcome to the PlanetQuake Archive.
Official word from FileFront
