maybe you should make a more clear statement next time. it didn't seem like by "never going back to quake" you meant never competing in anything quake-related, and even then, the fact that he chose not to participate in a tournament for a game in the early beta stages doesn't mean he won't consider participating in tournaments for the game once it's more developed.

He made his money, he won his game, why would he risk his reputation now? He didn't come back to Q4 in 2007, why is this any different? He's not coming back and competing.

His results are debatable. If we were both in a tournament and I crushed you (which I would), it wouldn't mean anything that I came in first place if my only hurdle was you.

I have been a fan of his since watching his play style throughout the 2005 CPL World Tour. He developed different, more effective strategies than other players did over the course of the tour.

It's obvious he's not the best Quake player in the world right now, and maybe he never was. I see no reason to think that he wouldn't compete at a high level now if he were active, but it looks like we won't find out any time soon.

I think you just hate the guy for being in the public eye, which clouds your judgment in determining if he's a high-caliber player or not. It's just like kids who suddenly don't like a band anymore when it becomes popular.

everything else with the exception of the PK world tour has been a well disguised farce but you can question the level of PK competition and even though he won the finals Vo0 still had more wins over him during the year and more finals

as for q4, can't remember his exact wins but the only one that springs to mind was his double bo3 vs toxic and he had the advantage of being in the spotlight with a lot of pressure which he handles very well

but he stood no chance the second toxic slipped back into his natural game

That's the reason he turned down Zero4 on his challenge when he just got done saying that he loved Q3 more than any other game. If he lost to Zero4, he'd look bad. If he lost to Zero4 and Zero4 lost to someone else (which he did), it would look even worse.

Fatal1ty has been picking his fights carefully to protect that image - you rarely hear about the losses. He lost a shootout in Doom 3 to both Rocketboy and Daler. His most notable competition before dropping out of Doom 3 was Daler at Quakecon before Rocketboy raped him like 25-3.
