don't think you are allowed to go there unless you have some special admission, and not sure if you should go there unless you have or want some special diseases :>
yeah i've seen this site some time ago, it's awesome, although i've read about this trip being "fake" (dunno how to explain/describe it :P all-in-all she wasn't sightseeing on her own)
yeah, this swimming pool is a must-see for most of the people who go there :) some time ago i've seen some comparision between cod4 locations and real places, but i think it was in some paper magazine ;/
this is where the devs of CoD4 got their ideas for MP_Bloc and MP_vacant.
the mural in the 'palace of culture' is used in these cod 4 maps and the 'devil's eye' wheel is also in MP_Bloc map aswell as other buildings shown in that post.
but here, in Poland, there is a group of people who go there on their own, usually twice a year. their guide is a someone who was an eployee of the power plant (maybe this guy from wata's link).
and it's quite cheap, it costs around 250E and the whole trip takes 6 days. and it's not that far, for me it's closer than Baltic Sea :D
many people insist that 'fear of radiation' is groundless (i've reed opinions of a few scientists, one of them told, that during short trip you get as much radiation as during transatlantic flight). i am keen on going there, but still i feel some fear :p
of course it's much about your behaviour. those experienced people know how to behave (e.g. you shouldn't enter buildings in Prypiat, don't have too long trousers etc.).
I read about it from time to time, I haven't for a few months and unluckily another trip of those Polish guys I mentioned started on 30th March :-/ (they have been there quite many times and going with them is cheap)
Yeah, made lots of crappy photos. CBA to put them somewhere on Flickr or Picasa, if you wish can share with you all of them as is through rapidshare or alike. :)
Edit: here is the link to tons of prypyat photos. Most of my photos looks very similar to what can be found there :)
