1280x544 is not 720p afaik

I haven't watched yet but it might just be a 4:3 source that is cropped. Not actual wide screen view area (resolution & fov).

Making a fragmovie 1280x544 is just fucking pretentious though, everyone is only watching this on home TVs and monitors, real films are only made in that aspect ratio because of the cinemas. It's a bit of a dick move, I wouldn't be surprised if the creator is an art student.

1280x544 shouldn't be referred to 720p as long as 720 stands for number of pixel's rows in video. That's why we have standards.

Search 720p on any tracker and look at all the 1280x544 films pop up.

720p is a _television_ standard. When putting films on a TV you just confuse things by having 720p, 544p, 814p, etc... when 1280x544 is just 720p but at OAR.

Somebody is just messing it up. This might be called 1280p if this dimension is more stable, but people shall use proper terminology.

Well, blame broadcasting stations or the torrent communities I guess, but it has already become a de facto standard. I suggest you just get used to it.

You could have done it with anything else than quake... I mean, I can hardly see the tricks, I'm not against nice effects, but when there are way too many (and tbh, I didn't find them that nice... :P)... You'll probably answer me by "it's an artistic video, noob!", but well, start painting then ! I can't see the link between rocket launcher and the video description tbh...
Also, didn't like the soundtrack, so...

negoxe is a skilled movie maker and this movie is a testament to this, however seeing the progression of his movies I can't help but think he's lost sight of what a quake freestyle movie is.

What I just watched was moving images to music, it might as well of been an mp3 with winamp visulisation.

Negoxe - your movies started out amazing. dreaming illusion and mellow darkness are both at the pinnacle of freestyle movies, true benchmarks, however I feel as your movies have progressed they've become much less about the player skill and the tricks themselves and more about the editing; in this movie to quite an extreme. To restate this - I'm pretty sure you could of made exactly the same movie with content made by so-so/average players, and this (as a quake movie) isn't a good thing, I no longer have an appreciation for the content as I'm watching it and I instead have a similar feeling to if I was watching my screensaver to music. If this is what you want; art movies all about the editing where the content is irrelevant, then you are doing a very good job, but this isn't a quake movie (and by that I mean a movie about quake).

I also have to say also the music, while not bad, didn't strike me as anything out of the ordinary like it has in your past works. Music is a very personal thing though so I don't think there's really any point in criticising your pick, especialy as your consider this your last movie and you are happy with it.

Anyway, thanks for all the q3 movies you've made negoxe, they've been truley awesome and in general criticisms of some of your later movies are only because of how high you set the bar to begin with, all your works have been impressive in their own way.

It'm a big fan of this kinda art with movie making, still I can't disagree on what you're saying (on the no quake part). Still I do believe that u really have to have an open mind to these kinds of movies. I've seen it all with this content, now I rather watch art then the same stuff over and over again.

Very nice innovative effects of the sky and nice overall editing including subs and picture filters, but I regret there's no interesting content.

This movie is great by its video and visual effects editing, but not by performance/music. So what we get is just a boring eye-candy. Those 5 mins were too long and unexciting as hell. My mark - 5/10. [gave 4 on the site, oops x_x]

It was colonel ambiguity in the gallery with the sculpture of a monkey penis.

One of the best movie i've ever seen, really hope its not the last one, and that people will keep doing that kind of movie.

In it's own right this was very well done. Not the usual type of trickjumping movie i'm used to but i'm impressed...

What ever happened to the Shaolinproduction movies by ashr with that nice psychedelic trance music in it... i think those fitted Quake 3 perfectly :)

So this is a gimmick vid, big fucking deal. There ain't a thing left to do in Q3 as far as trickjumping goes, and i'd rather see a themed video like this, rather than watch the same superduper tricks done by lifeless nurds, regurgitated over and over again for years, now.

Amazing editing, amazing atmosphere. This is a work of art, rather than another pointless movement skill show off, and as such, it gets a 10.

Well edited but:

-shit music
-kinda boring I have to be honest
-tricks were cool but the editing kinda removed any impact
-whole thing was slow motion which I know it kinda needed to be to fit in with the mood but if that's the case then you should consider changing the mood
-the movie is named terrible, yes, this actually bothers me

Haven't seen your other vids but obviously you have talent so keep it up.
