Mouse - Razer Deathadder seems to be very consistent, its a small step from diamondback, and it doesn't have a perfect shape, but with some getting used to i ended up using this one.
Mousepad - I tried a lot, since the 1st edition icemat, several steelpads, everglide titan, corepad etc. But always i liked the func F30.R(formely known as func surface 1030, on the rough side), the only bad thing about it is that it gets worn out pretty fast(like 6 months you turn it another 6 you turn it again, and 12 months you change it to a new), but so does most plastic pads, sadly.
Keyboard - Saitek Eclipse II, it looks bloated but its really good. The keys respond when they're half-pressed down, and i haven't encountered any doublestrokes(i tried several logitechs a while a go with poor response and often would write letters multiple times, even when you only press once). The worst about the keyboard imo is that it has numpad, this thing takes too much of my desktop :p a version without would be perfect.
Headset - The best for gaming i had was sennheiser 280 hd pro. I think you can get it in a version that have microphone attached to it, otherwise i'd just get a good solid pair of headphones and then put a cheaper headset around neck for the microphone.
Qpad ct white , because g9 doesnt skip on it ,it does on the black one.
Keyboard - i dont spend over 10 pounds
sennheiser PC161 was my first serious headset and I have had it for 2 years.I've never though about getting a new pair. It's not an important part to me .
I'm liking the Steelseries mousepads, not sure on the two super size ones, anyone actually use all this space? or just use it as a buffer to keep your personal space at LAN. Perhaps I'll get a QcK+ for keyboard.
QcK Cloth
Heavy - 450 x 400 x 6 mm / 17,7 x 15,7 x 0,23 in
QcK+ - 450 x 400 x 2 mm / 17,7 x 15,7 x 0,08 in
Mass - 285 x 320 x 6 mm / 11,2 x 12,6 x 0,2 in
QcK - 320 x 270 x 2 mm / 12,6 x 10,6 x 0,08 in
5L Plastic / Cloth
380 x 280 x 5 mm / 15 x 11 x 0,2 in
actually there are a lot great accesories for gamers especially in mouse category
mouse - which you should take is case really individually for example i prefer some small and light mouses so logitech g3 or wmo 1.1 are great for me. Also razer deathadder, steelseries ikari/laser and from logitech g5,mx510 and mx518 will be great choice i think
mousepad - i had only everglide titan, icemat 2nd and allsop raindrop and for me from this 3 pads allsop is the best. I heard really good opinions about razer pads too.
keyboard - who cares no matter that's only keyboard right?
headset - dont buy anything "for gamers" ,headphones with that prefix are really overpraise and buy it without microphone ( if you need mic buy separately ). Sennheiser will be good option hd201,202, 555 ,280
Mouse: Razer DA has the build quality and durability of any cheap mouse ( or worse ), but if you like the shape and it works it's good. Others I've used and liked: mx510, ms ie3.0. Yet to try wmo.
Mousepad: I prefer cloth, used fatpad and now QcK+.
Headset: Who cares. My hd595 broke and been using earbuds for a while. Still alive.
I doubt you have the exact one as I did,
It a good keyboard, the low profile laptop keys allow you be to as close as possible to the switch. And the Ali finish looks and feels nice.
They've both survuved me for 2 yearts and are working fine.
Plus they retail at 40 each which is far from cheap, though I had these half price, which is why I bought two.
Mx518
Allsop gigapad xl
Ancient Ibm keyboard
Sennheiser hd-25's (dunno how good these are for gaming, but I cba to get another 150€ pair of phones especially when I'm not that serious about quake anyways)
surprise, another german with exactly my setup, allsop raindrop + optical wingman. (it's actually a mouseman96, the wingman's predecessor.) maybe you can find my posts from 5-6 years ago on that topic, i've barely posted since, but the frankenmouse is still going strong, and i haven't found anything more comfortable. recently i've asked the electrician who made me the mouse for another one, this time using a razer 3g (avago 3688) sensor.
logitech's gaming products manager kindly informed me that a optical wingman is not planned as to date, but they CAN listen to customer demands. if there's ever a new wgm, i'd greatly prefer the skip-proof mx518 sensor over an expensive laser one.
second mouse plugged in my pc = ms intelli optical
ibm keyboard without the windows keys that get in the way
That's so freakin' cool. I'm also using a modded WGM with Explorer 3.0 internals. Did everything myself. Can post some pictures if you want this evening.
Just bought a mouseman96 on ebay (1€ hehe) and thinking about providing it with MX3 internals.
1)Roccat Kone/Logitech 518
2)Speedlink illuminated Dark Metal Keyboard
3)Roccat Taito/QCK
4)Speedlink Medusa NX
1) mouse is mouse, must be confortable. DPI etc, it is just advertise :)
2) who cares, but if its like in laptop it better.
3) very good and cheap pad, roccat.
4) "depends on how much you want to spend" - exactly :)
mx518
Qck+
the worst keyboard imaginable (m$ comfort curve 2000) - if i had the money i'd get a DAS keyboard or a really oldschool IBM model M (with super-loud keyclicks)
also sony MDR-XD400 which i'm really satisfied with beside the crappy look (since i don't leave the house with it that doesn't really matter anyway - just makes it fit better without any pressurepoints) - and a desktop microphone - cba to have a mic swinging in front of my face all the time
pad- Supermat blue (replaced my worn out Mantis Speed and feels just about as good but for a lot cheaper $). QcK+ is also just about the best cloth pad if you're willing to plunk down the $
Great! This subject actually turned into who owns what stuff. Here is what I’m using:
• Mouse – Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0
• Pad – Qck Heavy
• Keyboard – IBM model M
• Headphones – Technics RP-DJ1210 and x2 Jamo D365
Not interested in replacing any of these components.
because I think that he doesn't know what is good for him, hence saying he does not know enough about keyboards, so that he looks up some keyboards and gets to know those mechanical ones.
