Force close range combat by never showing yourself, it's all about positioning and ambush tactics.

If you've got q3 installed, get a hold of fox vs daler demo (I realise they're a bit different but the principle applies). For pure comeback check out zero4 vs cooller at cxg.

let him take a round of armour or two and pot shot him as he does it

camp the ground floor, he isn't fox/jibo/zero4 and will probably time and time again carelessly take both armours while leaving himself wide open for easy rails or he'll take jump pads

learn to spawn rape and don't be afraid of his aim

also, as this is for QL, SG abuse SG abuse and more SG abuse

i've found pg spam to be more useful in ql as well

t4 is such an ass map.

it's the match czm was on t4 and had such crazy zoom settings he was hitting aim on dm6

There were quite a few good t4 games in ASUS cup (good as for t4), I think at least some of them were good comebacks. Don't remember exactly tho :(

Going really aggressive on T4 only works if you have better aim. Otherwise you'll just end up trading frags.

um, t4 is dm6 which is full control*
it is less control and more attack/defend strategies and temper. which means u gotta attackattack attack :P

that comparison is total fail. dm6 is just running from MH to RA + bridge-to-rail when needed, with lg abuse (cpma). on t4 mh spawn every 2 minutes, not 35 seconds, and there is not a RA, but 2 YAs on the opposite sides of the map. usually each players gets 1, unless 1 is MUCH worse than the other.

t4 rules. its the shit netcode of quakelive that made it worse with the rail hitting all around the hitboxes.

dm6 is all about how you handle yourself when you're not in control

Well, it's much harder to maintain control on t4 for a long time than, for instance, t6 or dm6. You will most likely regain control after a while of normal play, it's just the way the map is. The key is to frag your opponent as much as he fragged you when he had control. Also, it often happens that you regain control back after you were low on hp/ap, but you happened to hit 2-3 rails more in a long-distance fight.

But, if you have to get it back quickly, the safest way to do it is to cut some corners and force short distance fights. You will most likely end up in fighting in the middle RL/tele room or trying to hit the opponent grabbing the lower YA with your RL from above. Those are the two main spots that are favourable for a player that is not using rail. There is too little armour on the map for your opponent to still have tight control after one or two of those kind of fights, depending of course on your picking up some of those armours, as well.

dm6 plays absolutely fine in ql regarding shaft use

I remember 15secs shaft spawn as a nice element of control :) dunno what quakelive plays like right now, waiting for linux client as I usually cba to boot windows just for that.

Never forget that game socrates vs cooller, where soc hits like 4 rails in t he last few seconds to win what was a comfy lead for cooller.

It was at a big tourney i believe, socrates was pure class when he was on form.
