he'll play like 5 prac games in a row vs someone of which 4 are close and 1 is a rape and he ups the rape... :/

also notice that he never releases dm13 demo's (his worst map by far, since it doesn't have a rail)

but still it's nice that a good player like him releases some demo's on a regular basis for the public to enjoy.

Just curious, how many games does stermy lose to these players?
Also, I would like to see stermy play against some of the top swedes.
For example sLONKEN ( I think an oldschool q2 tdm player) or rbo, both of which have recently beaten SKBodzo :)

if you are compelled to name a NA player, it'd have to be dahang. But tbh I think a European player would take the cake in the end.

Rapha and DaHang are def up there. Perhaps I see Rapha as the better player now, but DaHang has the most potential in my opinion, with CTF cutting into a lot of it.

Rapha did beat DaHang recently. I'm not saying this means anything (ping, map, effort etc etc), but from a distance it would appear it's not completely absurd to assume Rapha as one of North America's best, and perhaps the same can be said for a top spot world wide.

Admittedly, this is an opinion gathered from some distance. As I am neither good enough, nor qualified to play either.

Come LAN tournament time, DaHang will hang with anybody if he decides to go down that path.

stermy played vs many us players. was about 20+ per map. you can find it @ his stats.

Recently? I don't think he has. Is this any different than the Stermy rapes vs Euros or Rapha and DaHang rapes vs NA's? No.

I think Stermy had a marginally close game (Edit: 19-6 Stermy) with Chance, but that was about it as far as anything that was recent.

Even the Rapha vs Chance demo here on ESR. It was close, but that match-up is more or less pretty one sided now. No disrespect to Chance.

This is all speculative... I'm just suggesting that both Rapha and DaHang GOT GAME DOG!

Whether Stermy is better or not is something to ponder, but not something to argue.

besides couple of matches with spartie, where ofcourse uploaded were the ones he WON, clearly avoiding noctis, bodzo, fooki, zyv maybe

I think Stermy IS top ten if not top five. I think his tactics are strong despite what others say, but his over-reliance on his aim may be problematic later, vs seasoned players in LAN tournaments.

I'm not seeing anyway NEAR "Immortal on Monsoon" (Quake 4) type of Rail dependency yet, but rail dependency can limit tactical awareness I think. The guy is railing peeps from one foot away lol

That's not supposed to be WHEN you rail someone. That kind of habit can prove detrimental.

It can be, but stermy is one of the most consistent aimers to play this game imo. When you are that consistently aiming beast mode against everyone you play it usually isn't detrimental. I mean it never hurt him in Q4 and he definitely was aim reliant in that...he pretty much consistently always placed top3 and he never lost from missing shots

I disagree. But that's a good point. See, I actually see him being good enough to have placed 1st in Quake 4. His "raw" skill, just needs some seasoning.

Missing shots isn't the problem. When I watch him it seems like he ALWAYS has Rail on his mind because he's so damn good at it. This forces a kind of habit and mentality when it comes to in game choices which, I think, keeps him from being all that he could be. He's railing peeps from up close, giving us an example that he gets caught with his pants down, but eventually, I think he'll get punished.

This is just a hunch, and yeah, I could be just effing wrong, but I do this in the spirit of discussion, as this is esreality :)

I don't want to look like I'm criticizing players. The dude has INSANE ability, I've just always had this thought when watching Stermy. For good or for bad.

Yeah true his weapon choice can be a bit odd, but he rails like 70 against everyone he plays. His shaft is mean as hell as well...But yea I think if he played a little smarter with sneaky rocket attacks he could be #1 instead of #2 or 3 at big tournaments

but czm, fox, cypher, jibo, toxic, have had more impressive aim for hell of a lot longer

This guy is really good.

the guy's got monster aim but that's about it. his strat is like "I'll just stand on the item spawn and rail my opponent". once he plays someone who can match him aim-wise and has a brain to boot he'll lose like a big boy.

Just watched the DM6 CA.... :o no offence to stermy what so ever but - boring, mediocre. I know Stermys a hell of a player but I doubt this will be a good watch for most. I've seen UK players like Mist put out performances time after time after time in public CA servers on DM6 that are an absolute eye candy sesssion with efficiancy to match. This is far from such a thing.
Off the back of watching the czm vs Linkin demos, this is a really poor watch. Again - no disrespect to Stermy, I know he owns hard usualy.
