The airport security stuff is mostly stupid. They basically ask you if you are going to hijack the plane, like a real hijacker would say yes. They limit liquids to 3 oz., like you couldn't blow up a plane with only three ounces of liquid explosives, or have several people board the plane, then add together multiple 3 oz. containers. They run you through metal detectors, when a thick plastic knife would be more than adequate.

You really have to wonder what kind of morons came up with these 'security measures'. They waste countless resources illegally searching innocent people (of which 99.9999999999999999999999% of all air-travelers are), while the real culprits are barely targeted. They then claim political success through the age-old cause&effect error of 'because there have been no incidents, it means the security measures are effective'.

It's a bunch of nonsense, probably designed entirely to subjugate the people under fascist domain. They always come acting as saviors.

So they hijack the plane initially using plastic knives. They blow the captain's door using liquid explosives (some or all of which could be hidden up their asses or in a woman's vagina). They take control of the plane.

Maybe the problem with government security is the same problem with the communist economy. There's no motivation. Politicians or government workers gain almost nothing by creating a successful security system.

The private sector, on the other hand, has their company at stake. If one of their planes was hijacked or blown up, no one would want to fly their airline again. They also have an interest in making the entire air-travel 'experience' as good as possible. The better and safer, the more profitable.

If the government leaves airline security to the private sector, they can divert current airline security resources to finding the hijackers/exploders while the perpetrators are still in planning stages. The private sector also does not need to abide by many Constitutional restrictions, which allows them to use a broader set of security protocols.

Airport security is the same as store security, so you can act strangely and draw their attention and they approach you and start bullshit talk and you don't seem to be cooperative and you're like what feck off i aint gonna do shit but you keep the balance and they start acting like they own the place but they only get paid 10 EUR an hour and have ugly wife and shit and eventually you walk off talking shit how incompetent the service is and how lucky they are you dont have time to talk to the supervisor, and in the final they have done something else than standing still for last 4 hours and have subject to talk about for the rest of the day and you've increased you're penis and it's funny how illusive their perception of power is.

I was going through security a few weeks ago - about 30 of us in line, 29 white guys and 1 black dude.

I travelled to New York back in 2002. They controlled every foeigner again after we had already passed the metal detectors / o-rays including an 80 year old British lady, who had to remove her shoes. Twice.

All Americans with with a full beard and unkempt long hair (if you are into the terrorist-look-like that idea) could board the plane without any extra checks.

every american airport i've flown through, so a pretty limited selection and mostly major hubs, had seperate fast track lines for first/business ticket holders and higher status members of the various frequent flyer programs for the airlines or alliances operating there. so, collect more miles :>

When I travel from my home town, and any other airport (except one) I get my bag scanned, then when I've passed through, I have to enter into a small booth with a security guard, and the guard looks through my bag with me since I usually have lots of camera equipment in the bag, so it's not very clear what everything is when they scan it. And that's not all bad.

But at one airport which I traveled through not long ago, I had to take everything out, put it in trays, then have the trays scanned, then put everything back. This was all happening while I was in line of course, so it slowed the line down a lot as it took at least 5 times as long as just passing through.

Stupid fucking guards and their leaders deciding which stupid procedures to use. And so I told them. Felt good.

Only country who has a problem with security is USA. Its because the security guards are the product of American culture, loud, brash and slightly egotistic, in other words.. muppets.
