no way. there were many topplayers missing at last quakecon. cypher wont win this time. and fox and co were not in top-shape. this will be a totally different thing.
Yeah, because playing your best a week before the biggest tourney of the year in the USA and knowing your opponents will be studying your demos is a really good way to achieve a good placing.
dm13 - agree with Nuke on the failed rjs; up 5 to 3 he could have armored up and continued to lock down the map from the top tier position...instead prox caught up and tied, making av3k work that much harder. Av3k looked "constrained" here, almost like he didn't have enough room to sync his movement with his shotmaking...*shakes head*
ztn - av3k upgraded; gone are the overstrafes, the half rjs and somewhat awkward air accel movement -- really crisp strategic rjs, amazing dodging(last 30secs!!) and anticipation static shots (i.e., where he outstrats prox and beats him to the setup)
+ ztn: simultaneous slugs abound here (@2:22 makes you wince!) prox has one annoyingly accurate rail, but he can't outstrat av3k's rj'ing and put together a sentence of shots punctuated with a frag. Vek begins to zone near the end of the match which, for the most part, plays much, much tighter than final score.
are there any more demos around?
