omg it looks very very bad... wtf is with the animations? they are as bad as the ones in fallout 3 xD imo games with q3 engine used to have very good animations, but doom3 engine fucked that up somehow :o

What does have the engine to do with the animations? (which I agree, are pretty poor).

in fact, i am not sure, but i still think that i havent seen any goodly animated mp game based on id tech 4... though there are veery many id tech 3 titles with good animations..

somehow it just seems that the smootness of animations in idtech3 is gone in idtech4..

I do share his opinnion, tho. They are like having alt-fire soft-sniper mode to all guns. It's good as long as it's meant for long range and has movement drawbacks (as the actual sniper does), so it doesn't affect medium/short range fights.

yeah I wouldn't call them a bad thing necessarily (not enough experience with them)... I just consider that particular point invalid

actually many people had a different fov bound do a key for just that tunnel vision when crouching.

Yes I know that key wasn't mandatory, but I wonder if it's possible to just have a wider fov for when you use the ironsight

damn, Nerve nailed the "gameplay mechanics"(=how the playermodel and shooting accuracy baheves in response to keyboard and mouse input and map geometry) in rtcw mp, and Splashdamage didn't totally fuck it up in w:et.

for me, the feel of "gameplay mechanics" is what is so great about rtcw mp. objective based gameplay, classes, powerups and weapons are ok but the features do not really matter as long as they work with the "gameplay mechanics".

all they had to do was copy paste the "gameplay mechanics" from rtcw mp and do whatever the hell they wanted with the unimportant stuff and i would have been happy. now i won't buy without trying :(

maybe i'll buy it if someone manages to make a good rtcw mod on it, but i doubt that as it seems the game was designed from start to finish for the gamepad, so they'd have to change pretty much everything.

too bad. what got me interested in et was the fact tat while it was a tactical shooter it still kind of felt like quake. with that element gone i now dont see any appeal in this game anymore.

i never liked ironsights in games. i never thought, oh wow this shit is so realistic and fun. i agree with all 3 points especially the last 2. i think this is expected of id since all the newer games have this shit, and there would probably be complaints from reviewers and casual gamers who apparently love this shit.

I kind of hope that this is some really old version of the game from 2008 or something. I doubt it, but really hope so. I was expecting much more from this game.

I mean Quake 4 wasn't the best in the series but still rather solid, especially after some patching, but this looks rather horrid already.

Even though it's painfully slow it's still faster than 90% of the FPS games on the market, sad.

It's really really bad if you consider that they had RTCW as the basic.
RTCW/W:ET are extremely solid games, yet they managed to ignore everything what could have been learned in the previous 8 years
of RTCW and W:ET.

I won't make a list of all the negative aspects, because there are
simply too many of them. But one thing they managed to do right, the maps. Well done!

I hope the promod coders won't be scared of the huge challenge ahead.
